Beautiful views of the Murray and lovely ambience, the staff were very friendly and the service was great. We only had a quick lunch but the paninis we both had were delicious. Would have liked to get there early and have more time to enjoy it. Thank you
We were lucky enough to work with Bree and her team on an event celebrating a milestone for our company. We have heard nothing but amazing feedback from all of our guests regarding the venue, food, service and atmosphere. Bree and the team were fantastic to work with, nothing was too hard and the attention to detail made the night a great success. Swan Hill is very lucky to have such a fantastic venue.
Spoons Riverside absolutely nails the brief when it comes to location — right on the river, it’s the kind of spot you want to linger. It would be easy for this place to lean entirely on the view, but thankfully the breakfast is genuinely yummy too.nnWe visited with our two kids, who loved the kids’ breakfast option, and the adults were very happy as well.nnThe only let show were the Coffees. Coffees arriving after the food is always a bit of a breakfast crime in my book. That aside, it’s a great spot with solid food, a family-friendly vibe and one of the best settings in town.
The food was disappointing. I ordered the pastrami sandwich, and it came with only one slice of meat which was overpowered by sauce and sauerkraut. The staff were not friendly, welcoming, or attentive. Be aware that the menu becomes limited about an hour before closing. On a positive note, the atmosphere was great; it overlooks the river and is very peaceful.
The waiting staff were genuinely accommodating and very eager to help, especially with our child who has several allergies, which we really appreciated. Unfortunately, the kitchen seemed overwhelmed on the day, and the food didn’t quite meet expectations. Portions felt small, and some of the salads were quite plain or bulked out with cheaper ingredients. At $30 for a chicken salad, I was hoping for a bit more.nnThe outdoor area, however, was beautiful and relaxing, with lovely views over the Murray River and a small grassed space where the kids could run around and climb trees.nnOverall, it does feel a little like a tourist trap, but if you’re visiting Swan Hill and simply want to unwind with a wine in a scenic spot, this is still a pleasant place to do it.
