Southgate is a restaurant and shopping precinct in the heart of Southbank, Melbourne.

Story

Southgate is located directly opposite Flinders Street Station and is positioned at the gateway to Melbourne's art precinct of theatres and galleries, as well as nearby Melbourne's renowned parks, gardens and international sporting venues.
As a landmark city destination, Southgate offers a number of restaurants, cafes and bars, everyday specialty retail stores, an undercover 24 hour car park and licensed riverside food court with spectacular views of Melbourne's city skyline. The Centre is a popular destination to enjoy major events and celebrations year round and is open 365 days a year from 10am until late.

Still a bustling and live atmosphere down the main strip. Good to see the pandemic hasn't put a dint on the spirits of all the people that make this place what it is.

Great place to walk along the Yarra, have lunch, visit Crown,or just do some shopping.

Lost its sparkle. Sad to see so many empty shops. The cafes that are open are busy. Tables outside wherever possible. The view of the Yarra River is still breathtaking. I think we all need to support the Southgate traders to help them stay afloat.

Seems like this place could legitimately be a gate to the south bit it's been 15 years since I took an orientation course so I'm not sure, we should put our faith in these institutions to not mislead us, so 5 stars.

Nice shopping center that has its own underground carpark. It also has a food court located on the first floor. Restaurants are located on the top floor.

Great part of Melbourne, family restaurants, shops and bars. Great day or night out

Great place to get food and drinks overlooking Melbourne’s Yarra River with the city buildings backdrop. Usually buzzing and a great place to people watch.

Lovely meal in P.J.o'Briens,with friends. Cold beer and hot,tasty food. I had the steamed mussels,very nice.

Little quiet due to Covid. But good food. Great views and location.
