Intimate and unique bar set under Evan Walker Bridge. There aren't a lot of tables downstairs which allows for a nice intimate experience, and you get a nice seat close to the water of the Yarra. Have a cocktail as you watch the boats go by. Their pizzas are also surprisingly good and come out quickly. Crispy, chewy, nicely blackened base with fresh ingredients on top. We got the pizza with spicy chorizo and it went very nicely with our drinks.
The margarita was fabulous especially the guava flavour. The pizza was good too, the reason I have given 4 stars to food: there was absolutely no salt in the spicy peanuts, it wasn’t spicy at all and too expensive for the portion. The pizza: the mushroom cut was way too thick for the bread to veg proportion I’m a chef so I’m picky about these things. But it didn’t matter really because the atmosphere is fantastic and the MARGHERITA was a hit!
Cool little bar in the middle of the Yarra. Take sunnies in the evening as sun goes down it reflects off the water. Very beautiful but very bright!Service: 4/5
Ponyfish island is pretty unique due to its location. I recommend coming here for an apero at sunset. We just had Aperol Spritz which was decent. Location is beautiful, on the Yarra river and surrounded by the city's skyscrapers. The vibe is very relaxed, we really enjoyed our time here. Each table has a QR code on it to order anything. Ours was old and didn't work so we had to go to the bar and order there. Surprisingly, we didn't have to wait at all to find a table.
Forgotten wonderful middle of Melbourne bar. Such a lovely location in autumn sunset. Oh and great cocktails and shrable platters.Food: 5/5
Pony Fish is pretty cool as it sits in the middle of the Yarra. It’s easy to get there by crossing the Evan Walker bridge and take the stairs down Good is pretty good we had the charcuterie board and ended up getting the cheese platter & the first board felt it was lacking in cheese . We had to ask for plates & cutlery - we got a wooden knife each and a plate We also ordered the 4 cheese pizza which was delicious. The cocktails & the non alcoholic cocktails really are yummo The staff were lovely and helpful I personally think it’s a little overpriced but hey… we’re in the middle of the Yarra on a beautiful Monday in May I’ve actually been a few times and I’ll probably go again But on a serious note. It’s definitely a Melbourne must do - do yourself a favour!
Cute little spot! The portobello pizza and the pink grapefruit margarita were both delicious! Perfect spot on a summer evening! I only did find it odd that there is little to no service - you get the menu yourself and find your own seat, then walk to the counter to order and pay.Food: 5/5
Maybe I had mismanaged expectations but I found it strange that no one greets you when you come down the stairs and the tables weren’t being cleaned proactively despite there being few patrons around in the afternoon. The only human interaction you receive is when you pay at the counter or when they bring food to your table. Interesting cocktail selection. Uncomfortable high chairs. I recommend getting the ‘The Magellan’ pizza, it was phenomenal!
Limoncello slice!! Looking for a relaxing drink for a cracker of a day. Look no further! This is in my TOP 2 cocktails I have tried. TOP 2. Honestly refreshing, amazing flavour and the crumbs remind you of a gay time ice cream. Childhood come back. Bang on guys, fantastic cocktail!!!!!Service: 5/5
Pizzas and cocktails are so good here! This is my favourite place to drink along the Yarra, the Violetta cocktail is delicious!Food: 5/5
