Southern Adventure is a Not for Profit Business owned by Scouting Southland proceeds go back in to Scouting for the Youth & Leaders to keep there fees low and training up to date . We are proud to sponser different community groups with prizes for fundraising .Come in and take a look at our awesome range of Scouting, Camping,Tramping and Hunting goods we have in store. We are extending more and more and wanting to show of our awesome range. even take the time to join our V.I.P list and get 15% of everything in store excluding maps food and items already reduced and even more when we have our sales you get 25%off. To all TA's , this is the place to resupply, friendly helpful staff and best price for freeze dry backcountry in town. Note Katmandu no longer sell freeze dry food.

If you want camping gear or helpful advice this is the place to go to. From boots toto hats sleeping bags tents they have it all. Highly recommended.
A very wide range of products. The store is prepared to order items in for you if needed. They stock all price ranges from cutting edge brands to great value scout gear. Service is friendly and knowledgeable. If you want great value, great gear and supporting an independent retailler is your thing - this is the place.

After a bad experience with some of our recently purchased gear from a local NZ brand, we were directed to this store. My husband and I were looking for a durable tent to withstand weather and be good for camping and tramping. Rebecca and later Donna and Marley was so extremely helpful. She took time to listen to our plans and needs and help us sort through all the tent options. It was so refreshing and wonderful! They have great gear and lots of international brands at good prices and, of course, love supporting a non-profit too. Highly recommend this store if you’re looking for bigger brands that aren’t the local Macpac or Kathmandu.
