A bit on the more expensive side but the food quality was pretty good- although I'm questioning why there were grapes. Still might come back to try other things. The seared tuna salad was good and would recommend.
The best sushi in hornsby and great value!
Disappointed recently with the food. Used to be freshly made salads but now they’re smaller/cheaper & not as nice & have less salmon. Everything is pre-made & for takeaway only. I hope they’ll return to their original restaurant once they recover from covid.
The best Japanese restaurant in Hornsby. Excellent food, reasonable pricing. Licensed venue so you can enjoy beer or sake with your meal. Staff are super polite and the entire staff greet you and say goodbye, which is a nice touch. Have eaten there many times over the years and will return.
Really hard to find great food in Hornsby so pleasantly surprised by the food at Soto. Great atmosphere with open kitchen. Service was amazing without being pretentious. Food was absolutely fabulous. The agedashi tofu was the best that I have eaten and the rest of the menu was just as good. The portion size was very reasonable and well presented. This is now my new place to eat!
We really like the place, the coziness, the food and the sweet vibe of the restaurant. We love the food, except for one instance where I ordered a Katsu Curry Set, sauce was delicious, portion was magnificent, however the schnitzel used was a little burnt! But of course, I should've told them. But I'll definitely go again.
This is a great place if you want more authentic and interesting Japanese food, rather than just sushi. Staff is great and accomodating, food is delicious and doesn't make you feel gross afterwards, they sell beer and the price is more than reasonable.

Bloody fantastic sushi. Made fresh upon arrival and always delivers the satisfaction needed for 9:30 tafe smoko.
Delicious food, fresh ingredients, quality Japanese menu, lunch specials and main sets / bento boxes are great value for a variety of delicious foods. The staff are always very friendly and accommodating. Parking is best found along the rail line up from Hornsby Station as it is often difficult to find a spot out the front of the shops in that area.
