Sono Japanese Restaurant Portside Wharf

The sushi is the best I have ever had, and I've tried a lot of sushi especially around Brisbane. The sushi is at a good price and there is many other extravagant meals if you want to pay the extra price for them. 100% recommend.

I still say this is Brisbane's best Japanese restaurant! It's traditional Japanese food with some Australian flavours, with a menu designed to celebrate local produce and ingredients. Hire a tatami room with friends and take yourself on a trip of the senses all the way to Japan!

Great place in a great location. Staff are attentive and polite. Food options are plentiful . We have eaten here several times and it’s always been a pleasure. I’d recommend the tasting menu, we loved it.

The bento box that I ordered (mid price) was nice but the main star of the show was ordinary. We also ordered the wagyu steak special with garlic soy jus. Unfortunately the steak (ordered medium rare) was tough and almost impossible to bite into. When we asked questions the manager apologised but assured us that it was cooked correctly. However because we were unable to finish the meal and it left my partner feeling rather ill, we were offered a 10% discount. Overall it was an alright meal bit with a high price tag
