We had the best day up the Skyline. Breathtaking views, lots to do and so much fun on the luge. The staff were so friendly and helpful and really added to the experience. Everything is well signed and easy to use. Definitely worth spending a couple hours out of your day!
We went initially on a rainy day. The luge was closed down due to poor weather. We were easily able to either get a refund or change our tickets to a different day. We went up a few days later. Gondola ride itself is short but enjoyable. Luge is fun, worth at least a few runs. The chairlift up to the luge also has good views. There is also a small gallery of jelly belly art work.
The luge itself is great fun and it offers great views of the area. We booked a couple of months in advance and weren't aware there was only one track open and lots of building work going on. Would have been nice to know in advance at the time of booking, a promo code or slight discount would have been nice as it's not operating as it usually would and isn't a cheap activity. That being said,we all had fun.
A great facility although it is undergoing significant works at the moment so is dusty, noisy and the walkway to the Luge area has been created through scaffold and is hard work if you have any mobility issues.nnBut the views are stunning on a clear day and the Luge is great fun. The Cable Car to the summit is also enjoyable with a modern set up, and great views of the town. We paid $73 per person which included the Cable Car and 3 x Luge rides.nnWould recommend and would do this again.
Cable car takes you to top of Mountain. Here, you can do a walk run down or go down bike track. There is a restaurant and viewing point where you get a great view of Queenstown. You can buy combination tickets to include lunch and also the luge ride. There is currently only 1 luge track open as there is extensive building work taking place. That said, the luge is definitely worth a go or two !
