Skyline Queenstown Luge is an absolute must do when visiting Queenstown! The whole experience is packed with fun, adventure and incredible views. The gondola ride up alone is breathtaking, you get to see sweeping panoramic views of Lake Wakatipu, the Remarkables and the whole Queenstown skyline. Once at the top, the luge tracks are where the real excitement begins!nnWe tried both the Dart Luge Track and Arrow Luge Track — the scenic one is perfect for beginners or just to enjoy the view, while the advanced track gives you more curves, speed and thrilling corners. It’s super addictive; once you start, you’ll definitely want to go again! The luge carts are easy to control, safe, and suitable for all ages. Staff were friendly and helpful, making the experience smooth and enjoyable.nnThere’s also a café and lookout area at the top where you can relax, take photos and enjoy the stunning landscape before heading down. Tip: Go during the morning or sunset for fewer crowds and even better lighting for photos.nOverall, Skyline Queenstown Luge offers a perfect mix of fun, adrenaline and world-class scenery. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip — worth every cent and every ride!
Ride in the gondola is great. Food in the restaurant is excellent. It's worth getting the 3 day pass because you get 20% off what you buy, and we soon got our value from the extra $33 extra over the one day pass. The view is so good you'd probably want to see it more than once. We did the loop walk and it was an enjoyable short walk. For younger people, without dodgy backs like us, the luge looks good fun.
My kids thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience, from the gondola, to the chairlift and of course the luge rides.nnThe views were spectacular and it felt so freeing winding down the luge tracks and feeling the wind.nnThere’s also a cafe and bar to chill and enjoy the view after. They serve snack food items and also beer on tap yay!.nnNote: The ticketing counter sells the package with gondola + a minimum of 3 luge rides but there’s actually an option to buy just 1 luge rides without the package.
Smooth experience from start to finish. Definitely book in advance. It was very busy, but worth it. We didn't book the luge ahead of time because we were worried about weather but wish we would have added that as well. There is a viewing deck, and a bar to hang out in before your reservation. The food is delicious. We went closer to sunset and it ended up being a very clear evening.
