Had dinner there. Food was high standard. The presentation was good, with the sashimi in the ice bowl spectacular. Sometimes the flavour was not what it might have been: blacked cod, I'm looking at you. And it's not cheap. But service was good.
As a group of 5 we came here for the lunch set. All of our meals were outstanding. Service was exceptional and my husband was even given a whiskey on the house. Shoya will be always on our list to visit every time we are in Melbourne. Cannot recommend highly enough.

I went here with 2 of my friends and my goodness it was the best service and food I’ve had in a while, I’m native Japanese and this place is so authentic, the sashimi is so fresh their lunch menu “ matsu set “ it honestly a blessing. Incredibly delicious thank you so much for the wonderful experience
Food was not that tastey or fresh, especially for the price
Just had Kaisen-don rice with seafood in a bowl lunch set this afternoon. As always, it tasted great and the service was perfect; especially the waitress who looked after us was so attentive and nice and professional, of course, which really made a difference - thanks guys!!
