Story

Our name SHIRUDO means SHIELD in Japanese: We have developed SHIRUDO Ultimate Martial Arts to shield and protect against all kinds of attacks by designing a unique martial art, built from studying and developing only the most effective techniques from many different styles of martial arts.

Our styles taught under the SHIRUDO name are Muay Thai / Kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Karate, Judo, Taekwondo and Hapkido.

Effectively a Mixed Martial Arts Gym offering 4 combined Martial Art classes in SHIRUDO UMA and separate SHIRUDO MMA classes in Kickboxing and BJJ

All instructors are Internationally qualified and past national and international champions in there own style.

Previously they had excellent kick boxing coach (2016) but I am sure he is no longer there. He would have desrved 5 stars. But I had very bad experience with the owner and wouldnt recommend it to anyone. Especially for children. The owner has anger problems, is very disrespectful and extreamly greedy for money. I should have been less trustful but I got burnt by direct debit that he did not stop. He kept charging even when we moved to different town. He was fully aware since I told him four weeks before we were due to leave. When asked for refund for 6 weeks of charging extra all we got was actual threats and insults. My biggest regret isnt the money even its never nice to be conned. It is exposing my child to his martial art classes where put downs, intimidation, negativity and dislike towards kids were masked as “discipline”. I love martial arts and so does my child. Currently attending another martial arts center which has made me realize how bad it was. Trust your instincts if something isnt right.

the reason i left it for so long was because after your insults you actually promised to refund - you gave me couple of dates. Money was never refunded. 
Just telling how it was for us thats all. People can make their own judgements of who they believe. But my story is unfortunately truthful.

A great practical hands on self defence experience that I would recommend to all women.  Attending the class with my teenage daughter has provided a great opportunity for the both of us to learn a valuable life skill, improve our fitness as well as having fun challenging each other.

I have been training here since early February and honestly it is an amazing gym to say the least. With great classes which includes an extensive Mixed Martial Arts program (Muay Thai Kickboxing and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu), Fitness, Shirudo Self Defence Martial Arts which is arguably one of the most effective systems to date and more classes being added soon.  The distinguished instructor team includes trainers and fighters who have competed and won at both national and world levels. The atmosphere of the gym is great and the facilities are impeccable with some of the best training equipment available. If you need somewhere to train and work out no matter what skill or fitness level you're at from beginner to pro, this gym is the will fill that need.

I am currently enrolled in the empowerment for life women's only program. This is an excellent program which teaches you useful self defence moves to use in a potentialy threatening situation. I would highly recommend this program to all women.
