Loved our stay here. A couple of nights was plenty.

Having been through the Border Ranges on many occasions, I always make it a point to stop here. I just love this area so peaceful, and there is always One or Two tents pitched. No mod cons, there is a drop pit toilet facility. One time I stayed here for so long I did not leave until 10pm ... at night it was just so tranquil and dark (no light pollution).

We arrived late in the area and didn't have time to look at the other couple camp sites nearby. We decided to set up camp here. It was right on sunset and only 30 minutes of light left. We drove around the camp area and it looked pretty good. There are some grassy sites and some muddy sites. We selected a high grassy site and set up. About 1 hour later we discovered there where quite a large number of leaches around our site and others. Too late to pack up and try another camp area. We were happy to put up with them for the time being as we were only staying for 2 nights. The sites are very nice. There are fire pits/stoves provided and even a couple free gas stoves provided. The toilets are long drop and nil lighting provided. There are nil showers provided. The bird life is plenty and chirpy :) There is a couple walking tracks nearby and a waterfall. The falls were nice with a good platform to look from. The walking tracks were nice with nice scenery. Again there were a very very large number of leaches all around here! We walked and stopped every 100m and you would find at least 5 to 6 leaches climbing your shoes. I was bitten 5 times that day. All part and parcel with camping I know. The camping fees were ok... it costs $8 per vehicle per day/night and $6 per person per day/night. Check in is from 2pm onwards and checkout is by 10am. Due to the location being in the rangers, it was wet and damp. Not alot of light gets in to dry the place. We wouldn't stay here again only because the misses doesn't like leaches at all! Pros: Close to 3 lookouts in the rangers. A nice clean campsite. Free gas bbq's. 2 wooden long drop toilets provided. Nice walking tracks. Cons: Leaches lol. No showers. Having to pay for vehicle entry fees on top of person fees. Note: there is no mobile phone coverage in the camp grounds, however there is coverage at the entry sign.
