We started our chefs table with a tasting in the wine tasty area … three small amounts in our glass and we were told “ if you have any more you will have to pay extra “ Chefs table at $95 per head ,8 of us Seriously it was meant to be some amazing gourmet experience Sorry very average food ! The wait staff Tyson was the only great thing about our experience! Sorry but nothing like it was 3 years ago and I’m embarrassed that I spoke so highly of the place to interstate guests and had such an average experience. No wonder the place was almost empty on a Saturday. Sorry but you need to lift your game lots for the money you are charging. Would not recommend!
Beautiful scenery, nice amenities, great food and wine but the customer service/attitude from the function manager last night was pretty sub-standard. I MC'd a wedding last night and I'm not sure if they were having a bad night or something but we definitely didn't receive service with a smile, everything seemed to irritate her. As MC some communication would have also been appreciated before closing the bar so we could have called last drinks rather than turning the lights off with people standing there waiting for drinks. It's just polite.
Marty was fantastic! Very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. Kind of bloke you want to have some bevies with. The grounds were amazing and we parked up for a few hours just enjoying the serenity. Highly recommend.
A friendly greeting is always a good start and we certainly received that. A special night out and the layout of this restaurant is perfect for feeling a little special at your own table. White tablecloths and a minimalist setting at the table was appropriate. Alicia our server was a real gem and certainly knew her stuff with the wine pairing. We had perfectly prepared food in just the right size servings and despite the 5 courses if you add in the bread, canapés and palate cleanser it was certainly enough to satisfy. The wines were beautifully made and well selected for the course although one selection for me was that the Cabernet Sauvignon for my palate wasn’t quite right with the lamb back-strap. A fattier cut would have been more appropriate but again I only say that as to suiting my palate. Again Alicia asked our opinion on the matching and she thinly took my comments on board with grace. A great night out and for the price was exceptional value for money. Would do it again!
Mediocre at best. We paid for the Chefs Table experience and it was totally disappointing. The food was lukewarm, the ambience non-existent. Expectations from the website were not a reality. The service team were lovely and knowledgeable about the wine and food. The tiramisu- credit where credit is due, was delicious. Too little too late. Book here if you like eating at conference venues and overpaying.
Booked the restaurant on Sunday for an early valentines treat and sat outside on the terrace. I can honestly say this was the best customer service I have received since arriving in Oz 13 years ago. The waiters were so attentive without being intrusive, and the food was excellent.Service: 5/5
The best part of the place is the entrance to the estate! It's downhill from there! The accommodation is very average and the restaurant is woeful! The food was overpriced and my seafood meal tasted off. When I told the waiter he said" it's crab and it's a strong flavour" and walked off. They served us a wine that was not the vintage we ordered without us knowing and the waiter said " we ran out of that vintage - this from a winery? To top it all they added a $90 bottle of wine that we didn't have to the bill. No apologies from anyone. The breakfast included 1 piece of bread per person, an apple that was rotten and an out of date yoghurt! Don't go there! which is a strong flavour" and walked off
Very disappointing. Booked 7 people for dinner on NYE, as we're all staying there. Found out 2 weeks before that they're not open for dinner! Only found out because we looked at the website. Absolutely no communication from them. When we rang to ask about it, we were told they didn't have us booked in. The whole reason for staying there was to celebrate NYE on site and the booking was made quite a few months before. An apology would have been nice.....
Marty served us last minute and we had our best experience of the day. Most enjoyable tasting of all the wineries we visited and amazing wine to go with it! :
The Cellar Door experience was superb, great staff, beautiful facilities and outstanding Wines. I was specifically chasing Serafino Award winning Reserve Grenache and fell in love with their Barbera. Also loved the Serafino regional hero Cab Sav, 2017 on Aroma and 2020 on the Palate. Very happy with my mixed 6 pack purchase and a generous cheese platter.
