Story

Here at Selwyn College we provide students with the opportunity to participate in a wide range of team and individual sporting codes.

Selwyn College participates in many traditional sporting codes such as Rugby, Football, Basketball and Netball. At the same time we are constantly looking outside the sporting box, introducing new exciting sporting codes to students such as Handball, Futsal and Archery.

Sport is central to the spirit of Selwyn College, teaching teamwork, commitment and fair play. While providing students with many physical, mental and social benefits so they can leave Selwyn College as confident, healthy all-round young adults.

Selwyn College Sport prides itself on providing the best sporting opportunities for students to participate, develop and excel as student athletes. Quality coaching is key for athletic development and at Selwyn College we are committed to finding the best coaches available for all our sporting codes.

As a sporting programme we are always looking for areas of improvement and are in the process of developing a High Performance Unit. Providing gifted students athletes from all sporting codes with expert sport specific training and education.

We are very fortunate here at Selwyn College to be surrounded by some of the best sporting facilities in Auckland. We have three quality irrigated fields, a natural cricket pitch, tennis courts and the diamond in our crown the ASB Event Centre.
