Story

In only 1¼ hours the fast air-conditioned Seastar 1 can take you from Cairns to magnificent Michaelmas Cay, the largest of the local uninhabited coral cays. Cruising past Green Island, Upolu cay and Oyster reef Seastar is the first boat to arrive. At Michaelmas Cay you can join us on guided snorkel tours, go scuba diving or just relax on the beach.
After an enjoyable time here it is a short 20 minute cruise to the splendid Hastings Reef, sitting on the very outer edge. At Hastings Reef we will take you on a tour in our Glass Bottom Boat to show you this amazing spot. We also offer more snorkel tours where you may see Nemo, Turtles and colourful parrot fish. This tour includes 5 hours on the Reef, Hot & Cold Buffet lunch, Morning and Afternoon Tea, Guided Snorkel tours, Snorkel Equipment, Wetsuit or Lycrasuit, Glass Bottom Boat Tour and Reef Interpretation.

Products

Seastar cruises at up to 24 knots getting to the first destination of Michaelmas Cay in just over an hour. Being the first vessel to arrive - we have the island to ourselves.

Take the ferry to the beach & snorkel in the calm & sheltered waters of the island, or dive or snorkel directly from the Seastar.

After a couple of hours, the crowds arrive, so we enjoy a delicious lunch and then depart for Hastings Reef.

This is a very different reef to Michaelmas Cay, now you are on the outer of the local reef systems, on the very edge of the coral sea. There is more diving, snorkelling or now you can stay in the Glass Bottom Boat.

With a generous 2 1/2 hours at each location, there is ample time to enjoy all that each offers.
