I was driving around randomly as a tourist and saw this place for lunch. Plenty of parking out the back. I went in and was greeted by a young lady working at the bar who said I could take a seat, and they would bring a menu. A lovely person came up with the menu and asked if I wanted sparkling or plain water, nice touch. I opted for the parmi and it was beautiful. It was very thick, and I thought, this is going to be dry, but no, very juicy and came out quicker than I expected. Everyone I interacted with was super nice, very relaxed and quiet atmosphere. Very reasonable prices for the quality of the food. I noticed an older couple who must have been celebrating. They had sparling wine, oysters, and although I couldn't really hear what they were saying, they were having a nice time. When they would have left I left before them they would have gotten a nice surprise, no bill for them. This was my ideal dining experience, casual, not too noisy, good food and great staff. Thank you.
Absolutely spot on. Went with my Aunty. Seating was private, and a window with a view. And to our shock , they had garlic bread without cheese. Very hard to find these days. And it was delicious .We both had the King George Whiting for main. Compliments to the chef, the best I’ve had for a long ng time. And the crème brûlée for dessert was glorious. The staff were amazing, prompt, courteous and friendly, can’t wait to go back.
We had a fantastic Friday lunch with friends at Eileen’s Charcoal grill. Attentive and well informed staff in a lovely atmosphere. The meal was magnificent, great 2 course express lunch deal -such good value for great quality. My husband upgraded extra $10 for the eye filet and I had a perfectly cooked lamb backstrap, so delish! We ordered extra sides for the group which we probably didn’t need but glad we did. Extensive wine list, very well put together for all price points. So good, we’ll definitely be back!
There were some wonderful moments at the Sawyers Arms, & some not so wonderful.nMy husband & I had not been here, so on reading the reviews we decided to book in.nnThe service from the 2 young staff members was just perfect.nMy husband ordered the calamari, main size, & I ordered the Parma. We shared mynnot-so-hot chips I love hot chips. The Parma was a decent size, so I shared that too.nnI think it was the noise in the area where we were seated that really made our night less than a pleasant experience.nOur waiter was more than happy to move us to a quieter area to finish our drinks.
The front dining area is bright and airy and the tables are well spaced. The staff are friendly and have good hospitality skills - attentive but not hovering, noticing when you may need attention, knowledge of the dishes and asking about food allergies. 10/10.nThe menu has a great selection of dishes, small and large, so most diners would be well catered for choice.nThe confit duck leg with blackberry jus, braised red cabbage & potato gratin was a winner - crisp skin and fall of the bone duck, the braised cabbage was a table pleaser, and the potato gratin was just just the thing to help mop up all the unctuous juices. 10/10.nThe King George fried whiting, chips, house salad, lemon &nhomemade tartare sauce was crispy and thinly battered, chips were crunchy outside and fluffy inside. 9/10.nThank you kitchen and front of house staff!!
