Saveur Cafe, Bistro & Patisserie

Story

Saveur sits on the banks of the Taylor River in Blenheim, right in the heart of the Marlborough Wine region. We are open seven days a week from 7.30am for brunch and dinner. We welcome group dining, with a private mezzanine dining area and a range of set menus for larger groups are available.

Le Delice, our on-site pâtisserie, is stocked daily by our in house pastry chef with a range of sweets, cakes, muffins and French pastries, available to enjoy in the cafe or paired with a takeaway coffee for those on the run.

Relax on our terrace overlooking the Taylor River and watch the world float by - the perfect way to enjoy a coffee, drink or meal during the warmer times. During the cooler months, our open fireplace in the restaurant is guaranteed to keep you warm and cosy.

Our wine list makes the most of the beautiful Marlborough region, offering locally sourced wines, along with other well-recognised New Zealand regions and delicious French additions. We also stock a wide range of low and non-alcoholic beverages and our baristas serve All Press double shot coffees.

Our dinner was disappointing. The crackle on the pork dish was inedible and the pork was fatty, the quinoa in the cheese appetizer was unseasoned, the fish dish was weirdly seasoned with a tamirand oil and the mashed used beets to make it purple, very unappetizing to look at. The olives were dumped into a bowl. Everything was meh.
Wow. We are foodies from Houston,TX and this place delivered. We showed up late to dinner service due to a late ferry arrival. The staff was welcoming and happy to accommodate us even though they were ready to close. Had a great tasting affordable bottle of wine and then dinner came proceded. Husband hand the Raupo burger and I had the stuffed chicken breast. We both loved every bite. Highly recommend. Husband says it might be the best burger he’s ever had. Great experience!
I am a celiac, Raupo is one restaurant I know I feel safe eating at for breakfast and tea. They do gluten free bread that is made there that I enjoy with eggs, bacon etc for breakfast. They make a conscious effort to look after us. Their service is always very polite. One super star I would like to mention is Jade who lights up the place with her personality. The guys are quiet in their service and very polite. The owners always acknowledge us when we come in sometimes having a short chat to connect. These conversations make us feel welcomed into the space. Even though I feel safe eating there, I was super nervous last night as I had been severely glutened by another restaurant we frequent when in Nelson, almost a trip to hospital for the pain, my anxiety was very high about eating out again, I didn't need to worry. The presentation of the food is always amazing.nThank you Raupo staff for going the extra mile to make our experience special and enjoyable. Tracey.
I was expecting great flavors from the seafood sizzler because I love a lot of different seafood and due to the area we were in. It ended up being pretty bland. All of the flavors ran into each other and it ended up just tasting of boiled fish. I did appreciate they had a finger bowl automatically with this plate. The portions were good sized. I was a little annoyed with our service, as our server pushed a small plate into me to get it across the table instead of just setting it next to me. At that point, there was plenty of room on the table for it to go elsewhere. This type of behavior was noted throughout the meal, although not as prominently, where he consistently seemed to want items in a specific place on the table and would bump into us to achieve that goal.
Superb menu with a wide variety of dishes including great vegetarian options. Food combinations were delicious and visually appealing. Generously sized dishes, and flavoursome. The vibe and situation of Raupo right on the riverside were perfect on a sunny day.. Thank for having us!!!
