Great tasting food. Usually around a 10 minute wait. Only has a few of its own tables so be prepared to hunt around the floor for one of the general Westfield tables, especially at peak times. Loses a star for value for money as I find it quite expensive for the portion size. Still great place though. Been more than 10 times for Satay Chicken, Rice and a coconut water.
Ordered a beef rice noodles soup for the kids, asked the lady in register if it is spicy, she said don't add chili then should be fine. So I asked her please no chili. when I got the dish there were few diced chili floating in the soup, I thought it probably just a garnish until my son told me it is too spicy. Then I immediately brought it back and asked if we can just get the fresh noodles and soup without the meat as the boys can't eat it at all. Then the kitchen gave me the fresh one but still way too spicy. We ended up order noodles from a Japanese restaurant for the boys, but what a waste of money and very disappointed with the service.
Being a Malaysian myself, the food is indeed tasty. We hv been there few times, the char keow teow and curry laksa was really nice but there is no consistency in terms of the taste. Good food on some days and bad food on other days. So I hv revised from 5 to 3 stars!!
Great Malaysian dishes to be found here. I've had the Nasi Goreng a couple of times and just now had their Beef Rendang. Very nice. There's only a few small tables for eat-in dining but as it's part of the Westfield's food court there's plenty of tables nearby.
curry chicken rice had lots of chicken and sauce and it was delicious man. also the nasi lemak beef version was just as splendid looking in portion and taste wise. very good value for food compared to the other shops nearby. would definitely try again
I grew up living in Singapore. Nasi Goreng has always been one of my favourite foods. However, yesterday I honestly thought I have eaten the worst Nasi Goreng ever in my life from Sassy's Red. The 1st plate was so bad I had to return it. The rice was wet and clumpy, and in the rice clumps, I could see that the rice was white, and the spices and seasonings have not mixed through. I asked for a 2nd plate and this time, the rice was still wet, but at least I couldn't see any clumps of white rice. To top it up, the rice was bland and I really couldn't finished the plate. I will NEVER ever order Nasi Goreng again from Sassy's Red!
I had chicken rice which was a bowl of rice with old chicken - you could taste it was at least a day or two old. I had lots of chicken rice in Malaysia and Singapore and there's nothing authentic about it. The next day I wanted to ring up and ask for my $14 back. Very very disappointing!
I brought people here after having the laksa; and easily the best in the city - its a different kind of laksa; the sauce is really thick and rich and the flavour is spot on. Easily converted some guys. The Nasi Goreng is good as was the beef curry. I like SR. * dropped the score by 1. Had the char kway teow which was very bland. And the noodles were dry and felt like they left it out and didn't let it cook long enough. Everything about the dish was like WTF is this? Portions for that unlike the laksa was miserable. I finished the noodle dish and had to go across the foodcourt and get a sausage from snags+co because it was so .... pithy. Stick to the laksa
Masive Laksa soup! good price and great taste
Visited this place for lunch today with a friend having enjoyed their sweet and sour pork dish numerous times in the past. Found the staff to be incredibly rude and lacking in basic customer service skillls. Whilst placing an order I turned to my friend who was sitting at one of the restaurant tables to ask what type of noddles he wanted with his laksa...the couple of seconds this took was clearly too much for the cashier as she cancelled my order and proceeded to serve the customer behind me without uttering a word. I then had to repeat my order to another cashier. I was annoyed but let this act of rudeness slide so as not to cause a fuss what can I say, I'm British!. However, when my dish arrived there was significantly less sweet and sour pork than usual. When my friend approached one of the staff to address this she muttered something akin to 'no sorry' and rushed off to serve another customer. Again...I didn't want to cause any drama so carried on with my meal. HOWEVER after tucking into the dish the pork had a rubbery texture like it had been reheated numerous times and tasted like it had been coated in excess salt. By this point I'd had enough and approached a lady who called herself the 'manager' I doubt she was. She hurridly assured me that the pork was cooked fresh highly doubtful and tried to replace my dish with something else from the menu non-apologetically. I requested a refund reclutant to spend a further cent in this restaurant which she agreed to. I will never be returning to this restaurant again.
