Rustic River Eats has an amazing atmosphere and is wonderfully decorated. As a European guy, this is something most Australian restaurants miss. The fish was great especially for the price and the broccoli was perfect. The chips were a little high on salt, but it’s truely a shame that no more people visit this place.
FILO chicken & mushroom basket was so delicious! Nice environment with friendly waiter. She said the bushfires have been effecting the business. Here became so quiet, if people come from Melbourne could stay here, have a meal, will be very helpful!

Real food. Good quality. Chips were nice and crispy. Whole chicken breast crumbed and deep fried. Did have garlic butter on bun despite a no garlic request. Quite a heavy oily meal but tasted good.

We came for the vegan option. They had a tofu burger and a veggie patty burger and we took the second. It was really nice that it had fried mushrooms and onions on it, that kinda “saved” it, but the patty itself really is the kinda patty why people don’t eat veggie burgers. Like it’s not disgusting, but just super plain and soggy. The fries that came as a side were a decent serving, which was very good, but unfortunately they were soggy as well and just didn’t taste super good. No idea why there are such big differences if it comes to chips, but these ones weren’t very good. The place itself looks pretty good though, comfortable and cozy, the service was friendly and very fast, so everything great really, just apart from the food that was average. Would be so nice if I they would just buy some frozen vegan meat patties- they’re not expensive and easy to handle and you get them everywhere. Would improve the burger a lot.

Had dinner here after driving all day from Adelaide. It was amazingly good. Hamburger with the lot was huge and delicious, pork chops came with broccoli and cauliflower and was like a good home cooked meal. I really recommend this place. Clean, friendly and nice decor.
What a fun and interesting spot! Oozes a lot of character. Food and drink portions were massive and well priced. Great value for money and staff were really friendly! Totally recommend going here if you're in the Bairnsdale area.
Had one of the best steaks we have had in years! Lovely people, comfortable feel. Totally recommend!
