I booked my car in for an oil & filter change with a transmission flush, it is a 50 min round trip just to drop the car off, so when I received the call to let me know that my car was ready to collect, I expected that all work would be complete. Upon arrival I learnt that the flush had not been done, when I specifically asked for this and made a point that it needed to be done. I am very disappointed as this has wasted my time and money, I will not be returning.Service: Oil change
The place to go if you have ford ZF gearboxes, important contacts and helped get me sorted with TCU issues causing damage and rendering the gearbox in need of a full rebuild. Only issue I had after the rebuild was brought back in and a shifter adjustment done no charge. Can highly recommend the team. Now bringing mine and partners daily drivers and the FPV in.
A website enquiry about whether they could service the auto in my car was responded to very promptly. To their credit, they were honest to say they couldn’t help on this occasion, rather than saying they’d ‘have a look’. Much appreciated.

My negative experience at Rusell Automatic might be a reflection of one person's careless attitude rather than the whole organisation, but it seems to be consistent with other negative reviews. After waiting over a week for a hoist to free up, so they can "take a look at it". I took my car in to inspect a clunking noise, giving them a detailed briefing of the problem. A few hours after dropping the car off, I receive a call from Paul telling me that the diff had seized up in their driveway after a big bang and that I had to get the car out of there because they can't do anything about it. According to Paul, this happened after the car was driven into their driveway from across the street, where I had parked it earlier. "Not even 20m", he added. He also proceeded to express his amazement at the fact that I was able to drive it there. I immediately drove over finding the car in their driveway with surprising amounts of aircon condensation on the ground, not consistent with a car that was driven for 20m. Suspicious to his story, I checked the camera footage, and lo and behold, the car could be seen shooting down the hill and going for a 10min drive before coming to a stop in their driveway. After letting Paul reaffirm a number of times that he had only driven it from across the road and into their driveway, I told him that I was trying to understand why he would be lying about the fact that he drove it around the block, to which he replied, "you are right, I should have told you the truth but I didn't buy the thing and I didn't break it". Subsequent inspections showed a massive crack in the diff housing.
If I could give Paul and the team 10 stars I would. I encourage anyone requiring repairs within their parameters to utilise their services. These guys will look after you extremely well and NOT overcharge you like many places do in this industry. One word - integrity! Thank you to Paul and the team for looking after me.
These guys are the best. Prompt, reasonably priced, professional and extremely friendly. I simply can't talk highly enough of Russell's Automatic Transmission, nor can I strongly enough recommend them if you ever have any transmission problems.
