Service was fantastic from start to finish, the other residents in the building were also very nice to chat to. Unfortunately the room photos advertised are not even a close match to what we received. I would put it down to borderline false advertising. We booked a 1 bedroom apartment that looked quite bright and fresh, ended up with a dank little corner room that looked like it hadn't been updated since 1931. No door between bedroom and living area, TV in the living area was a computer monitor at best and the one in the bedroom was basically an iPad stuck to the wall. Be very careful when booking here, and lower your room expectations by quite a lot.
Adequate rooms, carpet was bare in places with a big stain. Mould in shower. One champagne glass to drink red or white wine. Postage stamp TV in bedroom. Old TV in lounge which was not clear. Tired space really. Rollaway cot needed to be put in bin. Lovely receptionist bought us another mattress so our daughter could have a bit better sleep. Really, charging for a 3rd person and providing that bedding is really not on!!! Also only 1 key provided which proved very frustrating as we all had different agendas! Would think very hard before staying there again! Rooms: Need to be upgraded!
I would never stay here again. I considered moving to a new hotel but it was too late at night. I provided the below feedback to the hotel months ago and got no response. There were a number of broken items door handle, hairdryer and dirty marks on furniture ironing board, sofas, chair. There was also a weird smell throughout the corridor and in the room, like an old food or a musty uni hostel smell. I understand it's a very old building but it's very easy to replace basic furniture or provide room spray in each room.
This hotel is a budget apartment and not a hotel. The rooms are not serviced, reception is permanently closed and the rooms haven’t been upgraded since the 80s. Definitely not worth the price compared to what else you can book in the area. The TV also shines a light on you in the bedroom and there’s no door on the bedroom so all the lights from the surrounding office buildings come through the blinds at night.
Poor form on the part of the operator. Flights were cancelled by airline so was unable to make it to Brisbane, immediately called to tell them we would not be able to check-in and the booking would need to be cancelled. They acknowledged, and sent an email back indicating the booking was cancelled but they went ahead and charged full amount of stay anyway 2 rooms for 2 nights. Have reached out to them to ask why, but didn't respond. Gave them business in the past but won't be staying here again
Kept getting emails before I arrived asking me to check in. 4 then 2 days before I arrived. I disregarded the emails, thinking it's not a flight. I also didn't want to email ID off to an email with potential for identity theft. On arrival at the hotel, I produced my DL and CC to reception to check in. I was told to check myself in via my phone. Call me old fashioned but at 300 a night, I'd expect something a little more personal than this. A colleague of the 1st reception recognised this and took my physical ID and checked me in. Beautiful hotel, rooms. The rooms seem a little tired, turning the blinds direction uncovered dust on one side. But the most comfortable bed I've slept in, in years of travel. Really amazing building, the list was even interesting.
We stayed during the christmas period and owner was very accommodating- allowed us to change our dates multiple times. 5 stars for their service. Location was great just 5 mins walk to the central train station and room and toilet was really clean and spotless no dust or stain although the furnitures were a bit dated which we were fine with as they add to the vintage feel. I love the room temperature easy control, comfort of bed, cleanliness and powerful shower.
Main showerhead broken, no towel hooks to hang towels, aged furniture, limited kitchen supplies, only one key supplied for 3 guests, no extra pillows or blankets.mould to tiles in bathroom and paint peeling due to no exhaust working. Would have expected better for the price. No staff to be seen either.Rooms: 2/5
Stayed there for one night on a weekend staycation...we enjoyed it. positive: Really nice and unique heritage building.. clean, spacious.... Unmanned front desk through intercom : quick response though and not enough basement car park which is a usual thing in most boutique hotels in the CBD..
Checkin was very easy. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Foyer decor is absolutely beautiful. Our room was large and very clean. Maybe a little plain, a bit old, tired maybe needs a touch up. The wooden blinds weren’t working so it got quite bright early. But honestly it was everything we needed and I would recommend it and we may be back someday.
