Superb experience. Roots is seen as one of the best restaurants in Christchurch and it's not hard to see why. The food is thoughtful, creative and true to the locale - lots of ingredients from the surrounding region. Lovely service, interiors and wine list too. It's on what seems like the main street in Lyttleton, a charming district that feels like a country town, only 15-20 minutes from the city.

Incredible restaurant, the few times I've eaten here I've always been blown away by the quality of the food and friendly service. So much thought is put into everything and that really shows, using as many ingredients from the local area as possible. The individual course, while small, come together to leave you very satisfied, and wanting to come back to try it again when the menu changes.

Long lunch degustation menu heaven. Had a great long here with friends. Did the wine match which was both interesting and full of flavour. The restaurant specialises in local ingredients with a focus on foraged greens.

Amazing restaurant. So many great things about this place - how they source their food, how the food is presented and, most importantly, how good the food tastes. It's expensive but worth It!
