Great view of the port with retro atmosphere. Tasty home made style cakes. Only minor negatives. No decaf coffee for those that drink it. Had delicious green tea instead though. Don't accept cc. Looks like a great place for a drink. Service friendly and relatively efficient. Recommend.

Great place to chill out food food or coffee. Second time I've been here and I'll be back again. Lots of nooks to sit in, for a group or on your own. On a hot day enjoy the back deck with a beautiful outlook towards the harbour. Cool high ceiling and a good music. A tip- if you change seating areas tell them; we got a short remark last time when we moved.

Have visited this cafe twice. The first time me and my friend agreed that the atmosphere was great, views are awesome and the food was good, however the service was average (they were impatient and you really need to read ALL the signs, in case you make a ridiculous request like wanting to order something from the kitchen when it was closed and don't ask where your food is when you have waited too long). But we decided that we like the overall vibe and only have to put up with the service for a couple of minutes and they may have had an off day. I took my parents to the cafe since we were in the area and I have never been so embarrassed. My mum has a heart condition (caffeine is a no go) and my dad is a diabetic. When we requested a decaf coffee, we got laughed at by the server and she promptly told us they don't "do decaf". When my dad asked for a cold drink without sugar she told us that there was only water. I felt so embarrassed and outraged. The overall impression is that you need to adhere to their 'chic' vibe and if not, your outrageous for asking for a drink. I always prided myself as a New Zealander on being welcoming and hosting others by making them feel comfortable. This cafe is too particular and snobby, and although the food and the views are great the service provided was too much and I will actively avoid this cafe in the future. I have read through your reviews and you might be getting 3-4 stars but if you read through people's comments there is a common displeasure about your service.

Great ambience, the open layout and unobtrusive music selection make for a great place to chat and chill out. Even with only a few tables occupied it has a buzz to the place, which contributes to the warmth. Service was quick too. The default size coffee did feel a tad small compared to the majority of other cafés I've visited, but it was good coffee nonetheless. That would be my one complaint for the kind of place it is.

Love love the steak sandwich and wedges! House made sauces are absolutely yummy. This place definitely surprised my palate.
