Fisherman's Wharf

About

Seafood caught locally off our own boats.....as fresh as it gets!

Story

At the Fisherman's Wharf, we have the catch phrase 'From the Boat to Plate', and for a very good reason....we have our own commercial fishing boats, and that means our seafood is as fresh as it gets!
In fact, we've been fishing as a family for over 50 years ( there's an original family photo on the menu).
Speaking of family, one of our owners Parents started the first fish n chip shop in Port... Chan's Cafe, and the reason you will see some 'Retro' dishes making an appearance is that Glenn ( the kitchen deck hand) had the first seafood restaurant in port, Nokos!
So with that combined experience, the stunning world class Harbor view, a team of friendly staff and fabulously fresh dishes, we look forward to seeing you.....again and again!

We had a great lunch here. We were 10 and ordered a lot and everything tasted delicious, fresh and well prepared. The Wait Staff was very professional and friendly. Nice vibe with a sea view. Definitely recommend.
First time diners here.nLovely wee restaurant and pretty busy at lunchtime so it was a good thing we reserved a table for 3.nHubby , 10 year old son and me.nThe servers were lovely.nWe did have to wait about 40 minutes for our meal but we did ask for everything to be bought out together so we were fine with the wait and it was worth it.nWe all got milkshakes, caramel, strawberry and chocolate - yummy!nI ordered the seafood chowder and the paua dumplings, hubby got a fisherman’s basket and rib eye steak and son got garlic bread, fries and the crispy chicken.nThe food was amazing!! And so tasty which was important to me as I have cancer and can’t taste anything but the meals were incredible!!nWould DEFINITELY recommend this place and eat here again.nWe spent $206 plus $10 in the tip jar.nA lot for 2 adults and a child but if you find good food, you spend good money.
We had the fish burger and the beef burger. It was amazing!! Great service and atmosphere. The fish burger that we had was probably the best fish burger that we ever had. They have options for fish fry fish and chips as well as other options.
Great spot to have your meal with a viewthe fisherman's basket was delicious, loved the coleslaw. Was a bit disappointed with the paua and prawn dumplings, it tasted bland. The seafood platter was nice. Otherwise, the staffs were very accommodating.
We were a party of 4, travelling together across NZ and all looking for some good, freshly caught and cooked seafood. The Fisherman's Wharf did not disappoint! There was some noise from the working wharf behind the restaurant, but this was mostly drowned out by the laughter and general hubbub within the dining area. The number 8 bus from Christchurch delivers you to the door. Highly recommended!
