Story

Room 680 opened its doors to an awaiting public in February 2001 and has since gone from success to success. Not simply a traditional nightclub, Room680 has proven itself as the venue of choice for the most renowned international DJs, dance parties, functions, fashion parades and product launches. We built a large-scale nightclub, and run it on with a small bar philosophy; friendly staff, cutting edge cocktails and proper service.

A key concept of the club is diversity of styles, with a music policy playing progressive house, garage, disco, and breaks all mixed into electric sets. The fusing of these musical genres attracts a diverse and vibrant crowd, with each night continually evolving. All of these ideals, however, are tempered with the market savvy required to push a business beyond its four walls.

By producing fresh marketing and advertising campaigns, and backing it up with a level of hospitality and entertainment few can match, we have delivered some of Australia’s most memorable nights. This venue presents a unique opportunity for brand exposure to the right demographic.

Designed by nightclub and hospitality professionals with the patron in mind, Room 680 is a comfortable and engaging clubbing environment with ample seating, world class sound quality and several dancefloor spaces. One of Australia’s leading artists, Mark Douglass, was instrumental in the interior design, and his artwork has lent the club a unique quality rare in such a new and technologically advanced environment.

Continuing its world-renowned tradition of delivering cutting edge spaces and uber-cool facilities, perched high above the club’s iconic existing structure is Room’s room with a view; Roof. Roof is an acoustically engineered, open-air enclave that combines ultra-modern fittings and state of the art amenities with custom-designed furniture, uber artwork and environmentally inspired palettes.

Years of experience in operating clubs and of the dance music industry in general has resulted in an impressive array of acts and DJs being at our disposal. Our Tuesday nights, host one of the biggest and longest running Uni Nights to ever hit Melbourne; MyPlace. Also on a weekly basis Evolution Events run our Saturday nights; Sanctuary Saturdays, In the past 4 years Upfront Concepts has promoted, co-promoted, and hosted events featuring international DJs, performers and artists.
