Loved this place. Fantastic vibe - everyone is incredibly friendly and keen for a game of something. Bar staff are lovely and great to chat to! and there's a good selection of games and drinks. Was a little bit hard to find the first time I visited - it's down an alley, sort of. No entry from the street.
Mostly good music and some sweet freebies at events: win! Slightly dodgy, typical bar setting, but easy to get to. The themed nights feel a bit half-assed and the majority of patrons seem to be single white dudes in their mid-20s, nice enough but pretty awkward. It's a gaming bar but it's too dark to play anything other than video games on a big screen.
The ultimate hangout for anyone who loves geek culture, video games, mainstream TV shows such as GoT, animated movies, superhero flicks etc. Every Friday there is a different dress up theme and sometimes they get special guests in. If there is some kind of convention going on usually people come out here afterwards as well. There are 2 different venues though and I wish they would just stick to one and focus on improving it.
I'm not normally one for such large social gatherings, but this place is super comfortable, most people are willing to say hi, you're greeted with a smile and it kicks off from there. CAH with strangers and the room stopping to join in to sing alone to Bohemian Rhapsody is just the best thing ever. Come down for a great friday night. Make sure you say hi. It's a community, that's the whole point. :D
The atmosphere is great and you'll find plenty of gamers keen to mingle and dance,after a little bit le of liquor lubricant However quite a few of the arcade machines specifically the light gun games were in dire need of some calibration which as a time crisis fan detracted from the night.
The first thing you need to know about my experience at beta bar is that the venue is horrendous, they charge an entry price of $10-15 to potentially play the “large collection of games”. What’s more disappointing then the venue is the OVERPRICED DRINKS!!!, which are nothing more than just watered down ass juice at best, the bartender that served me was incredibly rude and rolled his eyes at me when I asked for no ice in my overpriced drink. When I headed upstairs I smelt a strong potent smell of marijuana coming the direction of the dance floor, what made my experience even worst is that the smell seemed to be coming from a group of people who appeared to be staff members. The only good thing about my time at Beta Bar is the crowd of awesome people it brought, but it’s a shame the owners are taking advantage of the awesome people the bar draws in.
Great for the fellow G4m3r as the pros say served the best beer Candian Club and had THE HOTTEST QT ANIME GAMER GIRLS the fact that some of them were under 100kgs was astounding even if they were hideous, I didn't talk to them because I'm afraid of women, but they did have Cards Against Humanity which let me reveal my wicked devil may care sense of humour in addition to my very witty sense of sarcasm I rate the Beta bar a solid 10 monster girls out of 10 and remember the cake is a lie
Great spot really chilled good dfloor/tunes and a great set of games. The people that attend make it such a great spot and the theme nights are a lot of fun.
i attempted to attend this venue last night and my advice would be to avoid it i went there with my mate and my gf and when i arrived i was told me and my mate would be charged 15 dollars each while my gf would be free when i complained about the blatant discrimination the manager who was stoned of his arse and wreaked of pot he screamed at us to get out or he would call the police
Good laid back atmosphere with the definitely has the 'gaming' feel totally the place. Great place to be with friends, plenty around to do
