Five start treatment from the moment I entered Emergency very early Friday morning with my sick teenager. She was seen to almost immediately. She was moved to Short Stay and they continued to thoroughly investigate her health despite her feeling better and wanting to go home. Every single nurse, doctor, warden and food services team member was respectful, kind and accommodating. It turned out that surgery was necessary and the surgeons and anaesthetists were funny and friendly, making sure my daughter was at ease. They patiently explained everything carefully and clearly. The nurses in the surgical ward were attentive and gentle.
My elderly mother at the end of her life was recently sent to hospital at the request of her doctor. It's the second time we've been there and the staff were all delightful in emergency. The young nurses were so compassionate and kind. I can't speak highly enough of the hospital. In a world full of negativity I was so pleasantly surprised. Thank you to everyone.
I have always had a horrible experience at Robina hospital my Dr referred me to the breast surgery team for a breast access while breastfeeding. I thought I would give them one more chance as only ever been to ED. Breast surgeon team were great and sounded like I had a great plan… Then I went and did an ultrasound sound which also went well however then had a very incompetent Dr who had very broken English made the call to extract less than 5ml of my collection. I had doubts as this sonographer said there was a very small amount maybe 2.5 mil, but the Doctor will make the call. Previously at Tweed hospital 60ml and 15ml were extracted. The previous procedures were over in less than 5 minutes I didn’t have time to look down. This Dr did a number of things that suggested it was her first time even picking up the wrong equipment and that she had no idea what she was doing. I was too scared to say anything and let her start. She inserted the needle and could not find the collection to draw out. I’m keeping this simple, but there was a lot more to it. This happened around 12:30pm 9/8/24. The sonographer and other nurses would be able to comment how terribly the procedure went. I felt sick to the stomach after watching this female Doctor treat me. In hindsight, I wish I trusted my instinct and not let her go ahead. If anyone from head of Robina hospital reads this please follow up my case. I could not sleep last night replaying the situation in my head. Not to mention I now have to do another course of antibiotics which could have possibly be held off until a I was showing symptoms or b there was more collection. I am hoping I have no further complications from what was done. I would like to add how wonderful all the other staff were in the room at the time making me feel as good as I could and looking after my 4 month old.
Wow. Had 3 visits to ED in the last few months and it was top service. New ambulantory section in ED is fantastic. All the staff were fantastic. Great doctors way better than any GP's I have had. The visits were quick and thorough. Well done guys. We are so lucky with our health care in Robina Hospital. Well done. Thank you.
