Story

Rick Shores is the perfect place to experience a modern Asian dining experience right on the sand at Burleigh Heads.

With culinary influences drawn from Thailand, India, Vietnam and Japan matching the skill sets of Executive Chef Ben Bertei (Longtime Restaurant) and Head Chef Jake Pregnell (Ex-Golden Fields Melbourne), Rick Shores is able to develop unique and contemporary flavour combinations.

Open through lunch to dinner, small plates, large plates and the chefs selection is the focus with a precedence for fresh, light and locally sourced dishes.

An excellent example of modern Asian fusion, which I often find hard to enjoy, being Chinese. The menu has a few twists and is as creative as the decor. The interior is comfortably lavish, fresh with natural light and the sounds of the sea. It is a pleasure in every sense. The staff are charismatic and helpful, definitely service oriented. The mains are designed to share, ask the lovey staff for recommendations. We finished the meal with a light Granny Smith Crumble. It was a romantic outing and will return any chance we get. We didn’t make a reservation, though I would recommend as we went later in the day. Rachel & Wei

Interesting food and flavours on a positive side. We visited on a very busy night and they did well to fit us in. The staff were quite good but it was a chaotic night. 5 out of the 6 dishes were great and they were quite apologetic about the sub standard fish. It is not fine dining but a fun place to be at. As we are visitors, longish waits between courses etc don't matter as the vibe was good and the drinks menu varied and potent!!! Thanks for a great night.

Amazing! Highlight of our girls weekend away. The best oysters I’ve ever tasted, fantastic attentive and friendly waitstaff, beautiful food with a fantastic view (we booked early and got the unobstructed front table). Pretty good value for money considering the other restaurants we went to that same weekend. The beef tartare is an experience and tastes phenomenal!

Well.... The view is good.. Had the banquet last night with family, and was extremely underwhelmed. Though the food was fresh, there were chilli flakes and sliced chilli on %99 of the courses. The salad being inedible, it was so so hot! Not the place to go if you don't like things spicy. Prices are ridiculous for drinks, and we were asked not to buy the drinks ourselves from the bar, but only had someone come to our table offering drinks maybe 2 times in 4 hours. Courses took a very long time to be delivered. Understandably it was a Saturday night, but service was slow. Call in extra staff if you're struggling to keep up! Will never go back

Nice food. Beautiful view. Noisy. A restaurant with a philosophy that may hinder the actual act of eating food simply. It is somewhat chaotic on the floor near the bar at times and I think the restaurant sits somewhere between a romantic audience and a "foodie" audience, but it is not clear exactly where...
