Haven't been here in years.......since like the late 80's when I was only 12 years old! I'm now 43......time has passed! But yeah, coming here then was a fantastic experience......wandering around and looking at the exhibits and riding the steam train through Pelaw Main. I even came here once by catching a free bus that was a old double decker from the 40's/50's from the Maitland Steam Fest (another fantastic experience!). All in all, this place is brilliant to come to for family outings and the nostalgia that takes you back to the steam age! If you're ever from Sydney or the Central Coast, make a day and pop by here! You won't regret it!

I attended a tour by Newcastle Ghost Tours for an evening vigilante at Richmond Vale Railway Museum. It is a lovely place but unfortunately as of Sep 2017 an arsonists started a fire that damaged the rail line and various carriages and railway vehicles. Therefore we couldnt take a rail ride. The Council need to spend money on getting the heritage listed buildings, engines, carriages and the grounds back to what it was in by gone years. What a beautiful place it would be to visit either by old train and carriages or by car/coach.

Great experience and dedicated volunteers. Will have to visit again after they recover from the devastating bushfire that they suffered from.

I totally LOVED it, and it's a shame there was a bushfire burning some of the old rail carriages. Beautifully restored buildings and train rides... great music there too. A very nice museum, not to be missed when in the area.
