Quiet, Peaceful and absolutely a must visit to learn about objects and how much work goes into storing artifacts. Park your car, walk through the ramp, you will visit customer service staff at building E. 2 buildings E and J store Small objects E and Large objects J and a Cafe in building E. Overall, It has a huge presentation space, storage area. also, consideration of environment in which objects are stored. Small labels provides useful information like year, name of person etc. what blew me away is friendliness of staff. Definitely chat with a staff member, they do a group tour as well and walk you through history and information related to objects. Plenty of car space, disability parking is also available. Go visit this place if you haven't. Cheers.
We visited Powerhouse Castle Hill on a Sunday. Very friendly, helpful staff, free tours and free activities such as lace making check their website for current activities.nnA smaller space than the former Ultimo site, but nicely curated pieces from Australian modern history. Don't miss the building with the floats from the Sydney Olympics Opening Ceremony and Sydney Monorail! I felt old going because a lot of the things I grew up with were on display.nnGo in the morning to get a parking spot. Caters to people with sensory needs with a Quiet Room and headphones.nnWe visited during the changeover of temporary exhibitions, but it's a good reason to return when we are in the area again.
Just wow, everything makes me feel so grand. I would rather suggest to provide some more informative aid with each display, like QR code or something that will allow to have more information about each master piece and would also allow us to share with our kids.
Well worth a visit, although I think I enjoyed it more than the grandson. They did have a Mars rover exhibition that he enjoyed. My favourite part was seeing all the different types of transport including a monorail carriage from Sydney. You could go through most of it in a couple of hours. The staff are lovely and very knowledgeable.
Parking is great. Staff are helpful. Small cafe but plenty of space to sit. Museum not overly large but had some interesting exhibits
