staff was very friendly, wait was short, food doesnt seem original (short sticky grain rice, salad and corn in the salmon on rice dish) disappointing for the price

Extremely, extremely, extremely disappointed. I tried many other rice workshops who make the most beautiful don ever, i like the beef don and raw salmon don. Box hill's don is overloaded with rice, not much sauce, their rice is dry and in clumps, and their beef was extremely tough and chewy. When you eat dons in Japan, there is always a sufficient and even mix of sauce, rice and ingredients so that you finish with no leftover rice, which is what every other Rice Workshop I've been to serves. Thanks to this, my friend has an extremely bad impression of Rice Workshop now, I promised to take him to a nice one i go to quite often.

Came to try your new menu system, where you can choose your topping and base. The guy with a red hairband and glasses who served me today Thursday at 3:30 Pm looked confused and did not know what he is selling. I wanted chicken karage curry small but he gave me katsu curry. You should not employ somone who does not kow what to sell.

Functioning of this place is a joke. Worker saying next thanks but isn't focusing on the two customers that are ready with their money to order and pay but will serve a lady who shoves through the other customers quite roughly? I wouldn't stand for that at my own work. Be attentive if you're saying you're open to serve. Not great on tight lunch breaks.
