Administrative is stricter than SS troops. Barred from every spot to hang out on the campus, encouraged to stand out on the field like sheep off to graze. Only redeeming quality is being located near mickelson street.
My daughter achieved everything she did on her own.. my daughter was assaulted by a male student and when she retaliated was treated like dirt, All but one teacher seen potential in my child. This school cares only for the children who are in the seals program not the others who are hands up to help out at different events, I told the vice principal my daughter would be something. Not if she can’t keep her hands to herself, I was told. Look around before you decide to place your child’s future in their hands. My child went on to complete a masters degree is doing very very well for herself. Just for the record.
dont listen to the people saying how bad the school is, because its honestly not! i look back on my time at rezza so fondly. i love how diverse the school is, and the teachers are amazing i mean theres a handful of bad ones but that goes for every school sooo. i feel like bullying was actually handled quite well, and yeah theres fights and stuff and heaps of people in the reviews hark on that, but so does every other school?!?! like seriously, name one school where its just one giant kumbaya. i will say however, that i do feel its going downhill. the new principle, Ms. Watmough or whatever, is a nobody. shes rarely involves herself with the students and just seems kinda absent, and that seems to be the resounding opinion from everyone that ive asked about it that still attend the school. shes also seems REALLY lazy. no yearbook for the year 12s. i dont think ive seen any kind of acknowledgment for the kids who achieved a 90+ ATAR, but i heard they mentioned it at an assembly. wow. not even a photo? like the one they did every year prior? very lazy. even the temporary replacement principle that stayed for one term while the school was finding someone was better than watmough. she has to be my least favourite principle. only real ones remember mark jessop and mcneil wasnt bad either. i cant imagine she'll still around for too long tho which is good. also, what on earth is going on with the music department? if you go back 5-6ish years ago, the music department was fine. everyone enrolled in music lessons got all kinds of opportunities, like semester showcases where EVERYONE WAS INCLUDED, going to a recording studio to produce CDs, etc. Nowadays, its fraught with favouritism which on some level, was always a problem, but it is significantly more rampant now and laziness. for god sakes, they arent even doing the full 3 night shows for the production this year! how lazy is that?! and unlike how it was 6ish years ago, there is barely any teacher involvement aside from crusty Mr. Bailey and queen Rossini. not to mention, many SENIOR STUDENTS were left out of and even purposefully excluded from the semester showcases if you even wanna call them that anyone since they only seem to happen annually now simply because they didnt ask to be put in or weren't currently enrolled in a music subject. go back a few years and seniors were AUTOMATICALLY WRITTEN INTO THE PROGRAM BECAUSE THEY WERE SENIORS!! WHICH IS HOW IT SHOULD WORK!!! stupid year 7s should be getting a full repertoire of 5 songs to perform at a showcase over a year 11/12 singing a single song. its madness. they also excluded seniors from performing if they werent enrolled in VCE music, which is ridiculous. one girl did units 1/2 but not 3/4, and was a part of the senior band, but was replaced when they would perform in front of certain audiences even tho she was a competent piano player because she "wasn't part of the music class" which is just so rude tbh, and another student took VCE music EARLY and since they did units 3/4 in year 11, in year 12 they was excluded as they werent currently enrolled. wow. and thats not even mentioning the fact the whole TEACHERS WORKING FOR THE MUSIC DEPARTMENT were also left out of music nights and the production, which is stupid considering they were always a vital asset to the group of teachers years prior. im complaining a lot here but thats only because once upon a time the music department actually had something going for it, so its easy to compare. now its just favouritism; the same revoltingly arrogant students and tone deaf kids that for whatever reason are LOVED by the music department. makes no sense. for the most part, its still okay, but definitely could use a face lift. other than the shambles that is the music department and the subpar principle, this school is great! if you want your kid to be exposed to an very diverse and inclusive environment, this is the school! the multicultural nature of the school is fantastic, and are more than plenty of teachers who care about their students more than they need to.
Very happy with the High School. Staff are great and help parents and both my boys are thriving with teachers that care and go the extra distance. School grounds are continually getter better and providing a safe and inspiring place for students to achieve their best.
Fist fights often. Stabbings sometimes. If you're an experienced bully you'd do well here.
perfect school if you want your kid to grow up to be a gang member and coming home with bruises every day
Great School, Students are great, I love the diversity of the students and the respect they have for each other. The teachers are great and very helpful. They have great performing arts facility and have produced some awesome performances. If you are thinking of a state school I recommend doing a school tour to see for yourself, and ask the current students. Schools can change yearly and currently this school is kicking goals.
Look. I actually go to this school and it has been nigh perfect to me. I've learnt so much being here and developed friendships that I hope will never end. I've been pushed beyond my comfort zone and loved it. I've experienced joy I had never before thought possible. Classes are great. Students are great. Teachers are great. This school is great and I pity all who think otherwise.
Administration staff are not supportive at all I got a call from the school that my son is sick and I have to come to pick up him and he will be in the reception Once he was there, the staff shouted at him saying what are you doing here, you need to go and set in the junior school office, He was crying from his pain and the way he was treated. On top of that, every Tuesday school doctor is available in the school clinic I requested the administration staff if the doctor can see my son, considering his pain and he was crying badly, but she said the doctor is fully booked today, without any courtesy call to see if the doctor can check my son, or book him in between any appointments. I am so generous to rate them 1 star.
As a past student who began in 2006 and graduated in 2011, I wouldn't recommend this school at all! Yes they had some changes after bringing a principal named Robert Lamb around the 2011 era to clean up their image and thought it would make them look respectable after the 2012/13 era but honestly some scars that were caused will never mentally or even emotionally heal!
