My husband and I ate there last Wednesday though the girl serving was friendly and helpful and our chicken and chips was great. Toilet was filthy, no hand cleaner available and the tables weren't much better. So as a result I got sick that night. I will think seriously about going back there again.
Red Rooster at Gympie is a challenge to enter off the highway/main road for large vehicles, and due to old signage that's faded, the entrance is hard to see. Combined with that, there is a power pole obscuring the entrance as you go down the hill. However, if you miss the entrance, turn left at the lights and head back around to the highway because, hey, they do the best chips of any franchise, and their chooks are awesome!
Don't like leaving negative reviews, but I think people should be aware of this restaurant. The lady at the front was nice, we placed in order and specifically requested the chips and the pineapple fritter to be fresh and was willing to wait, five minutes later the pineapple was not fresh completely cold and the chips were cold. This repeated two times as the second time they brought it out, it was still not fresh. The toilets were absolutely filthy. If you're looking for fresh food, I would not recommend this place
If i could give this a barf face I would!!! Disgusting! Someone pissed all over the women's floor revolting all it takes is closing it off so no one walks in someone else's piss. Absolutely would be embarrassed if I was the manager. Use strong bleach and let it sit as both the toilets smelt soo bad!
