I walked into this hobby shop genuinely excited. I haven’t been inside a hobby shop since before I had kids, and I was really looking forward to sharing that experience with my own children. I specifically chose to support a local business rather than just ordering online.nnUnfortunately, that excitement was very quickly shut down.nnI went in to ask about a spare battery for my child’s remote control car — simply to have a backup and potentially replace the standard battery that came with it. Instead of being helped, I was spoken to in an extremely condescending and rude manner. The woman serving me made me feel like an absolute idiot for asking a basic question, as if I “knew nothing” and was wasting her time.nnFor a hobby shop — a place that should welcome beginners, parents, and kids — this attitude is completely unacceptable.nnTo make it worse, the “cheap remote control car” she dismissed so casually is one my son’s grandfather spent $300 on. Hearing it spoken about like that was frustrating and insulting.nnThis could have been a really positive experience and the start of regular visits. Instead, it’s ensured I won’t be returning — which is such a shame, because I genuinely wanted to support a local hobby shop rather than buy everything online.nnVery disappointing, and not at all welcoming.
I had a rather big job that day to finish one of my shells which is listed below.nI ran out of paint the night before and it was a Saturday night and unfortunately most hobby stores are COMPLETELY closed on the weekend which i find a bit strange and quite annoying as thats the only time I can get stuff done.nnI was extremely eager to finish this shell that weekend to get a session in w the boys at the track and not a single hobby store was open at all.nnAll but one, RC Garage was. These guys not only helped me get the paint that I needed but helped me touch up and clean up my shell and that helped me get the job that day.nnGranted I finished the rest of the spray job in the back alley which is one of my favourite memories of this shell but everyone in that store was so helpful, I couldn’t recommend them more.nnExtremely insightful and helpful folk, which is exactly the type of people you need within a community like this. Absolutely amazing experience with them and I only hope for that for anyone else that visits their storennThank you RC Garage nn-ladoridoa
nnI had the BEST experience buying my first RC car! From the moment I walked in, the service was outstanding friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the hobby. Everything I needed was in stock, which made the process smooth and exciting.nnA huge shoutout to Wendy, who went above and beyond to guide me through the options. Her expertise and patience made all the difference. She took the time to explain the features, helped me choose the perfect model for a beginner, and made sure I left confident and ready to hit the track.nnIf you're new to RC or just looking for top-notch service, this is the place to go. RC Garage is a great shop. I bought my first car there and they helped me chose the right one from the very beginning, never trying to upsell me to something heaps more expensive. They're always wonderful to deal with in store or on the phone, and orders that you can't get in to pick up arrive in a day or so. Highly recommend them for anything RC.
