Not a great experience. I needed to rent some Scuba gear for the day. I am a fully certified Diver & have my Open Water certificate. I spoke with Ocean Divers over the phone & made an appointment before coming in. They asked me a bunch of questions regarding my experience & qualification & were satisfied with my answers that I would be able to rent some scuba gear. Upon arrival, I was asked the same questions but was unfortunately greeted with hostility & arrogance by a blonde curly haired woman in their 50s. I was told I would not be able to rent any gear as the store policy prohibits them from hiring gear out to anyone that hadn’t dived in the last 6 months. While I understand this, it was not mentioned over the phone & had made the long drive out there for my appointment. I assured the team member I would be diving with an extremely knowledgeable & experienced diver but was disregarded as they didn’t know who they were and apparently knew all the divers in Melbourne?. Further to this policy, I was advised how terrible the conditions would be that day & why I even wanted to dive. To have a store policy is one thing, but to be so negative & arrogant is another. The whole exchange left an extremely bad taste in my mouth. The next store I went to, had me in & out within 20 minutes & asked all the same questions. I suggest going somewhere with more knowledgeable, respectful & professional employees.

I completed the open water course today with my 13yo son, and I’d like to tell everyone what a pleasure it was. Our instructors Liz & Jane special mention to John & Mike we’re amazing!!! Their experience, knowledge and patience is absolutely 5 star!! I will be certainly going back to Ocean Divers for all future training.

Couldn't be happier with this team and the shop. Just finished nitrox training, and our instructor Liz was incredibly knowledgeable, buttoned up, safety conscious and generous with her time and experience. Songtao dove with us and he's an amazing diver and instructor -- his passion for diving and safe diving is clear. As far as the shop goes, I also get the sense that they don't carry gear they wouldn't strongly recommend, and their knowledge about what will suit your diving style without any interest in over-selling is really valuable.

Completed the Padi Open Water certification here in Jan 2023. Course was great and Liz the instructor was very knowledgeable, safety conscious and friendly. Have since been on some casual club dives and rented gear - all great experiences. They are very responsive and go out of their way to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable diving experience

If you are in Melbourne area looking for a Scuba Shop or if you are in Australia and looking to learn and talk to cave diving experts, look no further.  Ocean Divers deliver high level scuba teaching and experience as well some of the best scuba gear that is cutting edge and ready for you whether you are doing your nice Sunday morning dive in Mornington Peninsula or diving into a high demanding silty deep caves of Mount Gambier.  Jane Bowman is one of the diving industries most recognise diver and instructor, that is known for high level teaching. I always look upto Jane's advice for a choice of gear, how to use them and how to modify my scuba gear for advanced level diving.  I started diving and learning from Ocean Divers in 2014. I have done my Rescue, Wreck Diving, Cave Divers Association Basic Cave and Cave level courses from Ocean Divers. I always look forward to meeting and diving with them.  Two years ago today, I took Basic Cave course from Jane Bowman. My goal was to improve my twin tank diving and gain skills to have safer diving. I was hooked. Over the time, I also realised the importance of my choice. Cave diving requires precision and attention to details and even though there is always room for learning more, a good instructor can lay a foundation.  I hope to catch up with them for Advanced Cave course when the restrictions permit.

Completed my open water course after a rocky start where I felt very anxious. Was supported with kindness and compassion to achieve my goal and will be forever grateful to Liz and the crew for opening up a world of opportunity in future dive adventures

I have dealt mainly with Jane, who has been a great instructor with high standards. Unfortunately with life recently I have had to postpone one of my courses, the company was a pleasure to deal with during this.

I’ve done my PADI open water course with Ocean Divers, I’ve bought my first scuba kit from them and I’ve just joined one of their club dives - 5 stars for all services! The course was great thank you Liz!, all the staff is super friendly and always take the time to answer questions and provide advice. I would definitely recommend!

I did a PADI reactivate course with OCEAN divers and recommend them very highly. The instructors were friendly, patient, and generous with their time, and I'd definitely go back if I ever seek further training.

Awesome team for courses, tanks and gear.
