My family and I stayed for a night at QT Tory Street, Wellington. The hotel itself is very nice, with cool decor and art adorning the walls.nnThe service throughout the stay was subpar - younger staff didn't seem trained or particularly interested in being there.nnFood was also average, including both the a la carte and continental options. There were small flies hovering around the buffet and its uncovered food.nnThe rooms were nice but scantily stocked with shower caps and other things usually found in a hotel room. The exhaust fans for both rooms were not working. We called the reception twice and told them about the issue. We were told it would be corrected but no one came - we couldn't be bothered following up. The water in both shower and bath didn't reach beyond a certain heat, so we had cool showers on a cold winters night.nnConsider extra-training for all staff and checking exhaust fans in rooms.
Rooms - beds were too soft. Basically stuff like slippers were missing and weirdly no chair and table to work off. I had to lie in bed with my laptop.nnBreakfast - was pretty good with a menu to order off as well. Location is great as well
An awesome location and great space however we felt that the amenities and room service was sadly lacking - small and not many towels etc and things we had the first night like tea and coffee were missing after the room was serviced for the next night - little things but do make a big difference! The night after we stayed in a top ten holiday cabin and had towels for days, tea and coffee for an army and the room was beautifully cleaned! And for a fraction of the cost! Saying that we would stay again - but might bring a few extras for ourselves! Also ordering things like ice etc through the app took AGES! Super frustrating when you really need a cold rum
Not recommended! Overpriced hotel with very poor quality “superior rooms” No workspace, dated/dirty bathroom, soft bed and very tired decor. Probably was great about 20 years ago but obviously no investment made since then. Avoid at all costs.
Loved the location. Beautiful room although the bed was too soft. Absolutely loved the decor and the artwork throughout the hotel was absolutely exceptional! The big downfall was the service. The concierge was pretty unhelpful to the point of being rude. This does not add to the atmosphere of a beautiful setting. We had dinner there were 8 of us we spent nearly $800 I had to ask for water, for the table to be serviced it had no cutlery, napkins nothing and for someone to come and get our drinks order. We placed our food order and 30mins later asked where it was…and guess what…they had “lost our docket”. Overall please up your game in the service department. This is an amazing hotel that deserves better. Ngā mihi, Hinepare.
