Going to QBD is always a blast, as I am able to get fantastic recommendations from all of the staff and chat about the newest and greatest releases. Mars and Jess specifically always go out of their way to make the store more inviting to customers through their attitudes, service and store decorations! They both deserve a promotion!
Good collection of books in a relaxing environment.
I came there looking for a book for my brother as it was close to the entrance, and also with a naive thought that all bookstores are the same. I was in hurry so I asked a staff she was young where I could find the book, she checked and showed me where the book was. Since there were 2 books with similar cover, my partner wanted to check whether we got the right one. It was when an old lady came to check us in to see if we needed any helps, she was friendly and kind with a smile on her face. After we decided what to buy, we came to the checkout desk and a young lady helped us with that. Only then she started to show her attitude. She did not bother having any eyes contact, no smile, no thanks, no nothing. I was shocked as I was absolutely polite and respected, but she treated us otherwise. I did not understand how that type of customer services could get her the job, but if she continued to treat customers that way, it was such a shame for QBD Books, as they will definitely loose us as customers.
Went today and was served by a lovely young lady that showed me some further recommendations when they didn't have the book I was looking for. However, I was compelled to write a review due to the rude customer service from an older blonde woman at the store. Made me feel stupid for getting her attention to ask for some assistance at the register after I'd been standing there, she was sighing and did not look up at me. When the other worker came to serve me she loudly told her to just stay by the register because a few people had also previously come looking for help, her attitude made me feel like I was a hassle to the other worker. Additionally, while the young worker showed me some recommendations, she interrupted her talking by saying "are you done? because there are other customers waiting", this poor girl was flat out whilst the other worker basically refused to be involved with serving customers.
They had a section with National Geographic toys. We couldn't find the National Geography stores, think they are online now. QBD books had a National Geography section with plenty of interesting, activity based toys.
I shop at the qbd closer to me quite often and the only thing I thought was that the range of genres such as manga could have been a little wider. I was here for boxing day, I have anxiety and was severely close to melting down because the worker I was talking to asked me a few things that I wasn't quite sure of with my payment method and the people I was shopping with were talking to me whilst I was trying to talk to the lady serving me and I was becoming really stressed but the lady was really kind to me and let me take a moment to calm down and wasnt upset when I was waving my hands to get everyone to stop talking to me for a moment .
Such a lovely bookshop with super helpful and friendly staff
Greeted by friendly staff, then did what I usually do in shops and browsed alone for a while. Staff gave me space to mull over the shelves which was appreciated, but when I eventually decided to ask for a recommendation which I'd never usually do they were all too eager to help, and the lovely, ever-enthusiastic Taryn ? recommended several books based on my recent reading. Absolutely bang on, ended up with a novel titled Fahrenheit 451 and LOVED it. Will be checking out her other recommendations in due course, thanks so much!!
Really sweet and friendly staff. They know their way around the book store and the book store is neat quite a lot. There is always some staff or another available for assistance. Have always enjoyed looking at their non-fiction section. One of my friends buys many of her psychological thrillers from here and says it's the only place she goes to buy books and the location is perfect
I would have never ever agree to get the membership. At the signup the customer service girls says the loyalty membership is $40 and we can redeem it every time we purchase. To see you can redeem the $10 worth of vouchers only if you buy $50 worth of books at the store. And one voucher for one transaction only. When I asked the girl at the counter - Evana, regarding this she was very rude and asking me to contact the head office. She never explained to me in regards this at the time of signup. I expected more from these customer service girl - Evana. This is total scam i would say.
