I was happy with the quality of the bike i purchased for my son from Progear. Unfortunately the box did not contain any pedals which is obviously an issue for a bike. I contacted the support desk and organised a time to drop by their sales office to collect the replacements. I arrived at the time arranged and was kept waiting for 45 minutes while they found a pair of pedals. They told me they were not the proper pair for the bike but would still fit. I took them home and, sure enough, they were too large (9/16" thread for a 1/2" crank). At this stage i was not going back to the sales office a third time so contacted the support desk and asked them to sort it out. They assured me they would get the correct pedals and express post them to me. Sure enough nothing has arrived in the post and radio silence from the support desk. In short the gear sold by Progear is well priced and seems good quality but their customer service is atrocious. I've given up with them and will buy a new set of pedals myself.

Avoid! There was screws missing and the mud guard was bent when I opened the box and so it brushed against the tyre when installed. But the two most alarming things were not being able to get the brakes working (I took it to a bike shop and they couldn't do it either) and the tyre just randomly blew up on its own whilst we were in the other room (I have a gauge on my pump so I know it was 10 PSI under the recommended pressure). Mistakes happen during production and I wasn't angry but being charged a 10% restocking fee is morally wrong for mistakes at their end. I was told the problems were during assembly (even though the bike shop couldn't sort the brakes) and when I left the guy that said this has his photo on the wall and his title was national sales manager, so he wasn't a bike mechanic. Even if he was right and the bike shop was wrong, the black and white instructions with pixelated photos offer very little help.
