Set in the Old Berwick Primary School on the edge of Pioneers Park

Story

Primary @ Pioneers Park was established as a cafe 8 years ago when the old Berwick Primary school relocated. The building was to be demolished and the surrounding area zoned for more shops and car parking but the local residents and the national trust fought to keep the building and have this beautiful park constructed on the site. Parts of the building are original and are heritage listed. There is a small gift shop situated in one of the original class rooms that is run by the National trust society.
The City of Casey maintain the park and the playground and they do a fantastic job keeping the park always looking its best.

Have been to this place twice and overall had a good experience both times. The food is tasty, the staff are friendly, and the atmosphere is welcoming. I’d recommend making a reservation, especially on weekends, as it’s a popular spot and can get quite busy.nnWe’ve tried the Big Breakfast, Eggs Benedict, Fried Chicken & Waffles, and the Crispy Chicken Burger. The Big Breakfast was easily the standout and the dish I’d most recommend. The Fried Chicken & Waffles is a good option if you enjoy sweeter flavours, although I personally found it a little too sweet.nnThe coffee was also very good and complemented the meals well. While not everything completely wowed me, the overall experience was enjoyable and I’d happily return to try more items from the menu.

As a vegetarian, I really appreciate that they have vego options that far surpass the avo toast or grain salad that most cafes offer. Their food is always delightful, filling and delicious. Every time I visit, the food is consistently fantastic.nnMy only gripe is the service, every time I have visited there have been plenty of empty tables, but I've waited in a queue for 5 or so minutes to be seated. Once seated, service is always attentive and efficient.

Fantastic restaurant that's adjacent to a beautiful park. The decor and setting was awesome and so was the service and food available.nAdvice to book as there was a long queue when we went.nThe only food that we found underrated was the prawn roll,  which basically was a few frozen small prawns on a bed of lettuce and served on a roll. All of the other were Fantastic.nBe wary of the price.n8 of us and the bill was over $380

Reservations are recommended because this place is very popular. The food is delicious and service great. I met up with two friends for brunch and after we'd eaten we browsed the gift shop and took a stroll through the lovely rose garden at Pioneer Park

We recently visited Primary @ Pioneers Park and had such a wonderful experience.nService couldn’t be faulted. The staff were down to earth, genuinely lovely women who were enthusiastic, welcoming and incredibly efficient. Their warmth really set the tone for a great visit.nThis was the first weekend in a long while that we’ve gone out for a meal and had an overall genuinely lovely experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious.nThe location is outstanding for parents with young children. The park is just metres away, and if you’re sitting outside you can comfortably keep an eye on the kids while they play while waiting for your food to arrive. It makes for such a relaxed and family friendly atmosphere.nA special shout out to the 2x staff who looked after Table 91 in the outside front corner of the outdoor area around 10:30am this morning. You did an amazing job and made the experience even better.nWe will absolutely be back, this will be our new regular spot whenever we visit Melbourne to see family. Highly recommend!
