Poong BBQ was a great place for our groups gathering. We all walked away super full and kimchi-ed out. We did however over enjoy the wagyu slices which our wallets were not prepared for, but oh boy were they delicious. The seafood pancake for entree is a crowd pleaser and fried shrimp was a nice addition. One of my main loves of going to a Korean restaurant are the multitude of condiments which do not disappoint here. The servers are attentive and change the coals for the bbq as needed. Just make sure you dont wear flammable clothes or ones that you dont want to smell like smokey bbq after you leave. All in all a lovely choice in the Eastwood area as there are so many choices to choose from.
Great food, great service over all. Very child friendly and the near quality was good. The only downside of our visit they forgot our fried chicken but the set menu of meat left us quite satisfied. There were plenty of side dishes and we left on a good vibe. The place needs some better ventilation but was quite good considering it was Korean BBQ
Attentive and friendly staff, Delicious side dishes and that fish roe bibimbap was so satisfying!... polished it all off. Yes indeed... we were famished but good food makes for a happy tummy. We arrived 1/2 an Hour before closing time and they were happy to serve us.
Bustling Korean BBQ restaurant that provides a range of Korean dishes and BBQ meats. The side dishes were plentiful and the fried chicken was crisp and tasty. Overall a good experience albeit cramped and smelling of BBQ.
The food is really good. Great for Korean BBQ. Service is also excellent, though I recommend getting there early for dinner as it gets packed out.
I always come here whenever I want to eat Korean food. The Korean Fried Chicken is perfect every time. Other dishes on the menu are also great in flavour. The free complimentary side dishes are always a bonus with free refills! Haven't found any issues over my multiple visits.
Well priced, accessible entrance. Staff understand and speaking English well . Clean toilets. They also have more seating downstairs for private function.
I spend 8 months out of every year in South Korea. When back in Sydney, this is the only Korean restaurant I will go to. Simply the best “all-in-one” Korean restaurant - great BBQ, a la Carte and fried chicken. Very authentic, fresh and very generous with the side dishes. Super clean as well.
We had BBQ here. The $99 set was adequate for 2 adults. Meat quality was good but only 6 side dishes were provided in small portions each and refills were equally stingy. Quality of side dishes was disappointing too. BBQ is very overpriced compared to competitors on the other side of the tracks in Eastwood. An equivalent in quantity meat set would be around $55 at other stores. Service is OK but intrusive I don't need you to come turn my grill down, I want to get good sear and there's adequate ventilation for the smoke if that's what you're concerned about!
Nice Korean food - a little pricey, but the quality is very good. The Fried Chicken is the best I've had in Sydney, absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend this place for a casual night out with great food!
