Homestead can be seen in the clearing up the hill just near the creek. Bungalow-style, very rare in Vic. Very practical in 1842. Hawthorn bushes mulberry and Italian cypress are all original plantings. Many stories of Newman and his success in early Victoria. Not without a cost to others though. Did it all in just over 20 years. Fascinating character
An interesting aband house built in the 1840's. Lots of history but there's nothing for the visitor. Badly needs some attention and development. So much potential for an excellent place to enjoy and learn about local history.
Love where the Mullum Mullum Creek meets the Yarra River!
I think this is the walking track that connects from Eltham park near the mini railway to westerfold park. Awesome track and highly recommended to go for a walk. If you follow the homestead track it leads to a restaurant and organic groceries shop.
OMG! I can't understand why this place is abandoned!
