Story

Built in 1899, Bundoora Homestead is a magnificent Queen Anne style Federation mansion operating as a historic house, art gallery and cafe, registered by Heritage Victoria and certified by the National Trust.

Bundoora Homestead Art Centre is the public art gallery of the City of Darebin, it hosts a changing programme of contemporary art and craft exhibitions, public lectures and is home to the biennial Darebin Art Show.

The licensed cafe, set in the elegant drawing room of Bundoora Homestead, offers a seasonal menu of light lunches and afternoon teas, while the Gallery stocks a selected range of Bundoora Homestead and exhibition merchandise.

Awesome contemporary art gallery, classy cafe and beautuful old historic building, perfect combination.
Lovely tea spot to sit at the huge windows on a rainy day.
The chef was experimenting with new ideas so we got a little taste.

A real hidden gem in Melbourne. Just had a beautiful, very reasonably priced lunch and the staff were absolutely amazing

I am wondering why this historical mansion was turned to an art centre instead of a museum.
Art centre is very good and displays some fine arts. It also provides activities to children and hold art exhibitions.

Above all my attention goes to the impressive architecture and the history of the building. It's in fact the residence of the man who owned the entire area now encompasses Bundoora park, coopers settlement and urban farm. His award winning race horse have been buried in a site where now urban farm is located 

It's a must visit for who are interested in history and architecture too.
