What a great day!! Easy parking, easy access, and a history unknown to most people. I learned such a lot as the house was used as a hospital for more of its years than not. Loved the very large, very old tree in the grounds.
Bundoora Homestead Art Centre is a wonderful destination that combines art and history. Although the house is not very large, every detail showcases the craftsmanship and aesthetics of the late 19th century. Features such as the wooden staircase, stained glass ceilings, ornate plaster ceiling decorations, and intricately carved railings make this building a cultural heritage site worth appreciating in detail. Additionally, the numerous paintings and artworks leave a lasting impression.nHowever, it is somewhat regrettable that the maintenance and restoration of this building are not well managed. For example, the balcony railings, which are originally beautiful, have become weathered and have not been repainted in time. The balcony floor also has noticeable bird droppings and dust that have not been cleaned properly. If the building were regularly maintained, repainted, and kept clean, its charm would be even more pronounced. A historic building with such rich details deserves careful upkeep—not only to extend its lifespan but also to allow visitors to fully experience its beauty.
Old homestead used as a art gallery. Easy parking. The building is beautifully kept.
This is a real Melbourne treasure. A welcoming place, plenty of free parking. Disabled access was superb. There was a variety of art to look at, and even the building itself … totally charming.nnWe had lunch at the cafe – there was a limited selection, but what was there was superb.
A Beautiful Homestead. Always has thought provoking art. Also the cafe has good coffee and vegan options.
