Story

'Poke’ which means to section or slice,
originated in the picturesque isles of Hawaii
where the aloha spirit and living a peaceful and
graceful way of life is highly valued.

The preparation of traditional poke appears
to be deceptively simple, however great skill
and precision is required and ingredients
are selected with the utmost care. Lovingly
prepared, freshly diced locally sourced fish
forms the base for the now famous poke bowl,
and Melbourne will be home to the king of
them all - Poke King.

This was the first time I tired a poke bowl. I absolutely loved it. Would recommend this place to anyone looking to dive in to the world of Poke bowls. There is a wide selection of add-ons. You can either customise the bowl and make your own creation, or just go with the items on the menu. The kimchi and the seaweed salad is so good at this place.
Lacked any taste and the fish tasted odd. The quality wasn’t what I was expecting. The toppings seemed to be random and not typical of poke bowls. Prices are high for what the food was. I prefer ace poke in the city. Better quality fish and tastier overall. Presentation yes it looked nice but it was really bland.
This is a great place if you want an ok meal but I expected a great meal with a warm environment and it truly lacked. One of my protein options was prawn and I recurved a few measly cut up tiny pieces. The avocado was not cut in pieces but mashed in with old avocados and new including brownish black pieces. It was incredibly basic, no exciting toppings and I’ve had a better poke bowl for a much smaller price, it was five times better. I don’t think you are supposed to dine in as the stark white environment, no music and coldness wasn’t great. I’m giving it a two, one for food and one for service but I think it might deserve a one and a half.
Loved it! I had Poke for first time today and am converted. Super tasty, fresh, healthy and no added nasties. Staff very friendly, too. Excited to have Poke in Fitzroy - will definitely be going back.
Really tasty poke bowl, I chose the 'build your own' veggie options and was a decent serving, the ingredients were fresh and generous. Good value. Would recommend!
Amazing Poke Bowls, full of great fresh flavours for my tastebuds. Wouldn’t recommend any of place besides Pokè King. If you find it hard to find your taste all you need to do is ask the staff and they can help you find your flavour.
A clean casual place for a healthy meal. The food is fresh and service was good. There are not many fish options, and the overall taste didn’t stand out.
Fresh and quality ingredients with plenty of choice. You can either build your own bowls or choose from a menu. There are also vegetarian options.
Very nice tasting and a variety of options to choose from. The owner was very friendly. Highly recommended if you want a healthy quick meal!
