Rude and arrogant owner! Made the effort to adhere to their fish and chip curfew to be greeted by a sarcastic response from the worker/owner turning us away prior to the closing time.Strongly advise customer service/social skills training and consistency in opening times. On a happier note... we found alternative fish and chips close by which were great! 😄

Got the greasiest look from bloke setting up outside tables at 7:20am when we I gave him a cheerful 'g'day' as we pulled in out front. His expression was like I just took a leak on his leg! We laughed & decided best go back to Merricks - always good food & service. People who don't have people skills should not really be in services!

It felt like it was a nuisance for the owner to take our money. When your business is customer service based and you rely on tourism it would pay to be a bit nicer. Nice coffee, shame it left a bitter taste in our mouth!

LOVE IT! The coffee is amazing. Their food has never been anything but perfect, fresh and tasty. I am shocked to read the reviews saying the staff a rude - our family and friends and never experienced this EVER and we have been going there since the day they opened. I guess you get what you receive.

Agree with whoever said it feels like it is an inconvenience for them to serve you. Don't expect good service. And if you complain about it, don't be surprised if you and your whole family gets banned. They don't deserve your custom.
