Wonderful place for camping overlooking Lake Tinaroo, just note there isn't any camp kitchen or showers. There are toilets and picnic tables. If you want to escape the city heat this is a perfect place to recharge.

Favourite campground so far of all the Tinaroo spots. Platypus has clean toilets and a shower cubicle (BYO shower). Plenty of grassy spots to throw a picnic blanket

We weren´t sure where to spend the weekend, but Petere at Cairns Discount Tours sent us to the Platypus Campground. Lovely lovely area. Reminded us a lot of scandinavia. Very windy, so be sure to bring warm clothes. Will be back!
