I had such a great time at Piper Street Food Co Hot Cross Buns class. Looking forward to baking my own on Good Friday. Damian’s recipe and directions were easy, it was fun, with a great group of fellow enthusiasts; if that’s not your thing head into their beautiful shop just off Piper St to buy them before hot cross bun season comes to a close. They are scrumptious, with the perfect amount of spice and fruit.
There is another pie store in Kyenton! I had the chicken and leek pie, plus a sausage roll. Both were exceptional, gold standard in baked pastry. In the store, there is a whole lot of other produce available as well. Also available are cooking classes. The only issue is that there is no seating to consume the scrumptious food. However there is a fair bit of public seating out side. If you have mobility issues, the architect of this building was not thinking of you. HOWEVER, the staff have thought about this, and will help you with level access around the side. All that remains to be said is "do yourself a favour" and give it a go
Was at a party recently and was treated to your AMAZING pies! OMG will definitely putting in an order for some .. completely delicious!
Every time I visit Kyneton, I make sure to come here. The Chicken Tarragon Terrine and Duck liver mushroom parfait are always my favorites. They have a variety of other delicious delis and pastries, as well as other goodies. The staff is very lovely and friendly. I highly recommend this little shop if you happen to be in Kyneton.
I attended Piper Street Food Co’s hot cross bun cooking course on 2 March. They were very welcoming, and friendly throughout this informative and enjoyable course. The 9 attendees each made 6 buns to take home, plus we each enjoyed a warm bun at the conclusion of the class - they are delicious, a great recipe. All in all, a very professional setup, with an informal delivery that makes it all very easy to understand. Thank you!
Such amazing pies both savoury and sweet! We had the pork and chorizo, chicken and leek, lamb pasty and vegetable pasty. Hands down the pork and chorizo won us over! It was so full of flavour and moreish. My 10 and three year old absolutely loved the chicken and leek pie! After having eaten the hot pies at the seating area next door next door neighbour was very kind to allow us use of their outdoor seating area, we headed back in store to grab more of the pork and chorizo to go. We had already grabbed some dessert pies earlier plum frangipane, apple and salted caramel and dark choc and cherry - absolutely divine desserts especially when heated up! Our kids were fighting over them at home! The pies were soooo good that the next day, we made a pit stop on the way to Bendigo to grab more of their lovely pies & dessert! This time we tried the pork jalapeño and it that was equally as good as the chorizo and pork! Our kids shared the chicken and leek together with a sausage roll. They both thoroughly enjoyed them! We called ahead to have the two pork pies heated up as traditionally all the pork pies were eaten cold and they would have none in the warmer and the staffs there very kindly accommodated our request. Such a lovely store with very pleasant staffs both days! We will definitely be back for more and would be recommending them to our family and friends! Looks like more day trips are in order !
We swung by this cute little bakery on our way back to Melbourne from a getaway. Bought the pork pie, chicken pie, beef pie, Bakewell tart, custard tart & duck parfait. Everything was delicious and I wish we purchased more items! First time trying a cold pork pie and it was not what I expected in a very good way. The Bakewell tart was hands down best I’ve had. Duck parfait was also delish. If only we live closer to this place…
Visited this quaint bakery nestled in Kyneton and requested a spicy pork pie. Pat came the reply - Hands down it's the Chorizo sausage. We also digged into the jalapeno pie which was juicy and mildly pork. 5 stars to the beef pasty! It's flaky and sumptuous!!
The cooking classes are second to none. The demonstrations make the process easy to follow and create your own goods. You get a first hand experience of making cornish pasties and pork pies and then you get to eat them straight out of the oven. It is a great way to experience Kyneton as you can also explire surrounding areas before and after your session. Highly recommended!
Absolutely stunning pork pies.. A perfect pork pie, the crust, meat, jelly seasoning, everything is perfect. I treat myself every few weeks or so and take a 200km round trip to collect a couple of large pork pies. Trouble is by the time I get home I've already finished one off.. Bravo guys, bravo...
