Amazing location. Definitely upgrade to a room with a view. Staff were lovely and friendly and very helpful. The foyer of the hotel was nice but we entered the hallway and was a bit worried about what our room was going to be like as it was extremely worn and the carpet looked stained. However,our room was gorgeous. I'm picking they are in the process of doing up the hotel as the carpet in our room looked new.nWe did not use the restaurant for dinner, but went in for our free continental breakfast which was lovely. Lots of fresh fruit, pastries, toast, cereals, yogurt and fresh juice and coffee. My husband upgrade to a cooked breakfast for only $15. We'll worth it, especially if you get the big breakfast which is worth $30.nThe restaurant itself is quaint but definitely basic. But again, staff were lovely and friendly and service was good. The pancakes my husband had were great too.nAll in all, I would definitely recommend this hotel for price, location, cleanliness and friendly staff.
Highly recommend this beautiful hotel.nOur family of 4 two toddlers really enjoyed our one night stay.nThe staff were excellent. They were all very pleasant and helpful.nThe breakfast in the morning was delicious and you get a beautiful view while you eat.nWould definitely come back again.nIt is also located in a great spot as you drive off the Interislander.nThank you to the team :
Lovely friendly staff. Would be great if info was passed on to morning staff, they said our breakfast wasn't included. Then found out afterwards it was. Lucky we were still full from the beautiful dinner we had there the night before. Just ended up having toast and coffee. Had a great sleep, nice and quiet. Staff are very welcoming.
Stayed the night. Front staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was very tidy and clean. Great view location is great also, being picton everything is close by. Would stay again.
I don't know where to begin... The worst hotel I have ever stayed in.nnI have travelled a lot, and in the last 3 months alone I have stayed in over 30 hotels.nnThis takes the biscuit as the worst one by a million miles.nnThe incompetence of the staff is astonishing, the lack of communication is laughable and the standard of the hotel just beggars belief.nnOur mattress was a dish sponge with a hole in the middle and a sheet on top and the rooms are tired. That said, we could just about overlook this if it wasn't for the following.nnThe hotel had no hot water for 24 hours and the manger didn't think it his responsibility to contact a maintenance company or to update any guests throughout the situation.nnWhen we complained 15 hours into it, he assured me it was out of his hands. I was lied to by two members of staff, who both told me that it would be back on within the hour and a maintenance man was fixing it as we spoke.nnPicton itself is lovely and we put the hotel experience behind us and enjoyed our time there.nnI wasn't going to leave a review but upon check out and while on a ferry across to Wellington, my credit card was charged £161.87 approx $350 without my knowledge, consent or any prior communication.nnHaving contacted the hotel, they told me they had 'made a mistake and were struggling to refund it'.nnToo long didn't read version - DO NOT STAY HERE, STAY LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE!
