We had an upgraded room with a fabulous view out over the pool and to the harbour and sounds. Amazing views. Loved watching the ferries coming and going at night under lights. Our room was clean, quiet and serviced daily. Staff were friendly and helpful. Loved our stay. Will definitely be back again.
Attended the Xmas lunch buffet today. Very disappointing. No food supervisor to maintain hygiene and presentation of serving platters.Meat was dry in some cases ,the Turkey was mush.The bread rolls were frozen purchased.The YOrkshire pudding was rubbish and tasted of sweet profiteroles. No water on tables and not supplies when requested. Overall the prices was extortionate including as basic glass of wine at17 Dollars.No interest exhibited by staff.No welcome ,no goodbye.The cutlery was not clean .An absolute tipoff.Clearly an opportunity to make some money.This reflects on the hotel's good name.
Terrible Christmas Buffet experience for $100/ppnnI'm an ex chef with 12 years experience, with about half of that on buffets. I rarely complain because I'm just happy to not be cooking. But wow this was bad and a scam at the $100 price.nnWe weren't greeted on arrival, no explanation of anything, just funny awkward looks. Had to get up and ask for water, a few minutes later we got half a glass each. Tried to get more water but no one was looking after our table. Didn't get any water until I got up and grabbed one of the only jugs from behind the servers area.nnDirty utensils that hadn't been swapped out all day. I could feel crusty food on the handles.nnUntoasted cold dinner rolls generic catering ones you're supposed to bake.nnCold soggy Yorkshire puddings, again the premade catering ones you're supposed to toast before serving.nnFunny taste to all the meats like they'd been in a warmer for 3 hours.nnFood served barely warm and there didn't seem to be any temperature controlsnnDesserts unrefrigerated and warm, and looked like they'd been left out for all servings times for the whole daynnDeserts all generic catering brand straight out of a boxnnExtra $$ for juicenn$17 glass of wine which tasted like $4 wine opened a week agonnNo vegetarian option other than basic garden saladnnSoggy warm coleslaw sitting in its own juicennEverything was gross and half assed, definitely not a $100 buffet at a yacht club
I've stayed here twice now October 2019 & 2024 and both experiences have been fantastic. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the rooms are always clean, tidy and comfortable - with a lovely balcony view. We spent our evenings relaxing on the balcony, watching the boats come into Picton Harbour, very peaceful.nnThe bar and restaurant downstairs is also a highlight. I had the chicken quesadilla, and it was delicious - the portion size, price, and flavour were spot on! At reception, they offer refreshing ginger water, which was a perfect pre-ferry drink.nHighly recommended!
Amazing location. Definitely upgrade to a room with a view. Staff were lovely and friendly and very helpful. The foyer of the hotel was nice but we entered the hallway and was a bit worried about what our room was going to be like as it was extremely worn and the carpet looked stained. However,our room was gorgeous. I'm picking they are in the process of doing up the hotel as the carpet in our room looked new.nWe did not use the restaurant for dinner, but went in for our free continental breakfast which was lovely. Lots of fresh fruit, pastries, toast, cereals, yogurt and fresh juice and coffee. My husband upgrade to a cooked breakfast for only $15. We'll worth it, especially if you get the big breakfast which is worth $30.nThe restaurant itself is quaint but definitely basic. But again, staff were lovely and friendly and service was good. The pancakes my husband had were great too.nAll in all, I would definitely recommend this hotel for price, location, cleanliness and friendly staff.
