Location is very good and easy walk to everything. We booked and paid for a harbor view but they said all those rooms were taken. They did not offer a reduced rate though did not have what we paid a premium for?? The lady at the front desk is not friendly or welcoming at all. The room was just ok- a lot of hair from prior guests and room needs a deep cleaning.
Very basic hotel. Rooms are clean and the women who ran the front desk was lovely. Nothing fancy but you cannot beat the location. Get a room facing the water. The view, especially in the morning is breathtaking.
Stayed here for three nights and had a really good experience. The location is excellent, right by the water with beautiful views of the harbour and an easy walk into town. The room was comfortable, clean and well presented with everything I needed for a relaxing stay.nnStaff were friendly and welcoming which made the whole visit feel easy and stress free. The property is tidy and well maintained and the pool area is a nice extra touch.nnOverall a great place to stay in Picton. Perfect if you are looking for comfort, convenience and a great location by the waterfront.
This was more like a lower end beach motel. Room was small, didn't smell great, and room was basically in the parking lot. Wifi was terrible which is unacceptable in this day and age. Had to open windows and curtains just to get air in the room which brought light and noise in at night. Breakfast was very below par and it was hard to find anyone around for any help. There was definitely not a customer service attitude there from employees. Only positive was that the TV had ESPN to watch football playoffs. Disappointing.
If you are going by photos don't. They are a little disceiving. This place is good for location, very central and good views. But I really thought it was going to be abit better than it was. The Whaler restaurant really let us down, big time. Over priced boring meals that lacked flavor. Very hot rooms, noisy if you try and sleep with the doors open. It seems that alot of Motels in NZ are like this and for the money we paid $300 per night I think it deserves better. False nails left on the side table and a dirty bath.
