Went to Peries Edge Hill IGA today around 2pmnI bought a small tub of coleslaw at the usualnInflated price. When I got home I noticed the “Best Before” date was 23/04/2025 today.nThis is such appalling service to make a customer pay full price for an item that is “best before” the same day as purchase.nI tried to ring the store twice but no answers.nThe store has become very second rate since taken over by the new owners. It was perfect and now it’s a mess. Looks dirty, produce looks stale and messy. Staff not interested particularly in the deli area. The shelves are empty and staff blocking the corridors with massive trolleys packing the shelves.nI’m really sad because I loved this store but I won’t be returning. It was once worth paying a little extra but no longer is.nWhy have the new owners destroyed this once amazing business.

Please stop giving out plastic bags! It’s quite ignorant, unsustainable and irresponsible. I ask your staff what they think people do with them and they reply. “It’s okay,nPeople use them as rubbish bags”.nnThis is so sad because you are misleading the youth that work for you and you are enabling pure laziness.nCompetition only gives out paper so it would be great if IGA could move forward into this century.nYou could even look at rewarding people that bring their own bags. Please be productive and positive, not maladaptive.
Was served by Kim today not my first encounter with her she is always very rude, but today she argued with me over the price on an item, she would not listen, told me I was wrong. It took me going to get a photo of the item and price, even then she still wanted to fight about it. Peries IGA work on customer service. Her attitude stinks
Since providing my feedback, the security footage was reviewed and the situation addressed with the staff member at question.nnDisappointment with the service today.nI was served by a cashier who, from the outset, seemed tense and noticeably less friendly towards me than she was with other customers. She processed my items with little care, to the point where she knocked over a carton of milk onto the floor. No apologies either. Instead of adjusting her approach, she continued piling up my small trolley full of items onto the small counter space, despite the fact that I had provided my own bags for her to load.nnNow, I have no issue bagging my own groceries, and I often do so. However, I specifically chose to go to a cashier rather than self-checkout because I am currently dealing with a hip injury, and I know that cashiers typically assist with bagging. Unfortunately, she never made any attempt to do so, making me regret not choosing self-checkout instead—it would have saved me from an unpleasant interaction I hadn’t anticipated.nnWhat made the experience even more frustrating was that as soon as I paid and was leaving, she greeted the next customer with enthusiasm, in stark contrast to how she treated me.nnI don’t expect special treatment, but I do expect consistency in customer service. All customers, regardless of who they are, receive the same level of professionalism and courtesy.nnThank you for taking the time to read my concerns. I hope my next visit will be a better one.
