Story

The Penny Royal offers a rich experience steeped in convict history dating back to Van Diemen's Land in 1825. Board the Dark Ride or the Brigg Tamar and immerse yourself in the escapades of infamous local bushranger Mathew Brady, scamper along the cliff walk, experience the quick jump, zip across the site, climb the cliffs and mine for gemstones and gold. Beware the authentic 24 pound cannon fire! After an action packed day, sit back, relax, and enjoy the picturesque replica 1825 stone buildings overlooking the lagoon as you indulge in great local food, fine Tasmanian wines and craft.

Super fun, everyone was very friendly, accomodating and prioritised safety. The location was so so cute, I loved the buildings architecture and the way the place made you feel like you were in a completely different country. Our rock climbing guide was so fun and friendly. The activities we chose, the rock climbing, cliff jump and walking pass was a 2 hour pass, and that was enough for us it was tiring too haha so be prepared. Highly recommend for some outdoor challenges and new experiences.
Visited Penny Royal Adventures with my family and we had such a great time! There’s a really fun mix of activities for all ages, and the whole place has a nice atmosphere. We all enjoyed the history, the views, and just watching everyone have a good time.nnEverything was well organised and the staff were friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. It’s one of those spots where you can spend a few hours without even realising how fast time goes.nnOverall, a really enjoyable family day out. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something fun to do together!
Great place for the family.nI imagined the place to be bigger, but they managed to fit everything very well in a nice compact space.nI planned for the event for the kids but it's really a place the whole family can enjoy.nI quite enjoyed panning for gold. Quite an experience.
Penny Royal Adventures is an outstanding experience and especially fantastic for children. The rock climbing and zip lining activities are challenging in the best possible way and are designed to help kids push past nerves and build real confidence.nnThe staff are encouraging calm and professional which makes a huge difference for children who are stepping outside their comfort zone. You can see their resilience growing in real time as they problem solve persist climb higher and finish activities feeling genuinely proud of themselves.nnThe setting is beautiful and well maintained and the safety briefing and equipment give parents complete confidence. This is more than just a fun outing. It is an experience that helps children develop courage perseverance and self belief.nnHighly recommended for families visiting Launceston and well worth the time.
Great place to visit in Launceston. Boat rides, rock climbing, zip lining and so much more packed with a variety of restaurants and sitting areas.
