Story

Parramatta is a western suburb of Sydney, located in the North West Metropolitan Region of NSW. Parramatta is approximately 23 kilometres west of the Sydney CBD and is the administrative centre of the NSW Police. Parramatta is home to numerous key areas that are essential for the day to day running of the NSW Police. Located within the LAC is the Parramatta Police Station, Wentworthvile Police Station and NSW Police Headquarters. Parramatta CBD sits on the bank of the Parramatta River and is approximately at the geographical centre of the Sydney metropolitan area.

Parramatta is a major business and commercial centre, sometimes called Sydney's "second central business district". Parramatta has many high density commercial and residential developments. It is home to Westfield Parramatta, which is now the eighth largest shopping centre in Australia. Church Street is home to many shops and restaurants and is divided into three parts. The northern end of Church Street, close to Lennox Bridge, features al fresco dining with a diverse range of cuisines. The centre area of Church Street is known as the Church Street Mall and is regarded as a strip mall. The southern end of Church Street, past Westfields is known as Auto Alley for the prevalence of car dealerships.

Parramatta Railway Station is a major transport interchange hub on the CityRail network and services the Blue Mountains, Cumberland and Western Lines. Research has indicated that the majority of the crimes that are committed in Parramatta are done so by people who live outside of the Local Area.
