I had a really positive experience in Optus Queen St today. Visiting Oz for the month, so just wanted 30 days of data to help me be an effective tourist. Diego sorted me out with a $30 plan that will see me through, and the process was quick and painless. The plan was set up in less than 20 minutes from entering the store and then I was on my way. I would recommend this service to other tourists, and thanks Diego for your help today!
Monique at the front door was rude and dismissive. I was in the store for 3.5 hours and problem still wasn't resolved as it was closing time. Was told to make an appointment for tomorrow so I can get it fixed. Went over to Monique to book in an appointment for me and she said no its walk ins, I then tried to explain to her I was told by the other stuff who was with that whole time I needed an appointment. She then went off and said I was being rude for interrupting her and I can come back in tomorrow first thing in the morning if I wanted help resolving this. For some reason she thinks I have all the time in the world and not a job and responsibilities. I then tried again to explain to her this has been ongoing for 8 months and Optus has literally done nothing this whole time and has ruined my credit score. I honestly have no patience left. Monique then told me because I was glaring at her and being rude she will not let me see anyone in the store if I come in. She would tell me to leave the store immediately. Don't know why she still has a job as a greeter when she's ruder than the customers. And is unhelpful
Very disappointed with this store. Wanted to upgrade my plan and device, was told by the host at the door that it would be a 10-15 minute wait and they had stock of the phone I wanted. Waited an hour before being served only to be told they actually didn't have any stock of the phones. Customer service seemed sluggish and unprofessional, and the hosts needs to learn to manage customer expectation by being honest and upfront, she wasn't even apologetic when I asked how much longer the wait would be. Go to the Adelaide Street store instead, always had a much better experience there.
I have never encountered a more incompetent and infuriating customer support team than the one at Optus. They have wasted countless hours of my time and energy trying to resolve account issues that should have been straightforward to handle. Yet, despite my best efforts, they have been unable to provide a satisfactory solution. Their representatives are rude, unhelpful, and clearly lack the necessary skills to do their job effectively. They seem to take pleasure in frustrating customers and have no regard for the impact their incompetence has on people's lives. It's unacceptable that a company as large as Optus cannot provide basic customer service. Instead, they make it nearly impossible to speak to someone who can provide actual assistance, leaving you to navigate a labyrinth of automated responses and unhelpful support pages. If you're considering using Optus, don't bother. The company's complete disregard for customer satisfaction and their abysmal customer support are not worth your time or money. Save yourself the frustration and find a company that values its customers and can provide the service and support they deserve.
Huge thank you for this worker who was so kind to me. I felt so anxious by the fact that my phone broke down and i was alone in the city. Really calmed me down and made sure i got the new phone working. I hope this message gets to her also. Visited today, brune hair women you are the best!!
Andreas, the retail store assistant manager did a wonderful job of quickly and efficiently resolving an issue I had, all whilst managing the store team, many customers during a busy period, and all with a cheery disposition towards myself, the team, shop customers, and the service team in Sydney. Thank you. Job well done. Excellent work.
Don't you just love it when you walk into a store and everyone just ignores you. They can see that you are looking for assistance, are reasonably well presented and are not there to just "look around" but they ignore you anyway. Even more so when they have someone at the door, screening people coming in and that person ignores you as well because they are in a conversation with someone all they have to say is "I will be with you in a minute" to acknowledge you. Yep. That is Optus on Queen Street Mall in Brisbane. Solution was simple. Walk across the road and make the purchase. This is the third time I have walked out of this store because they are rude. There will not be a fourth time.
I've only recently switched my mobile phones to Optus. Had the utter displeasure of having to seek assistance from the Flagship Store in Queen St, on Friday 21 May 2023. Met by female 'greeter' who informed me that there were 2 persons ahead of me, but it would take 15 mins approx to find somebody to assist with my inquiry. I told her that I was unable to wait for 15mins as I had another appointment. She then suggested, that if I came back after my appointment, she'd fit me straight in and that I wouldn't have to 'queue up'. I came back an hour later and met a male greeter who told me that the female who served? me earlier was in the toilet and would be back in a minute or two. 15 mins later, female reappeared, with no apology etc. No offer to get somebody to assist either. I waited 45 mins for a service tech, who after trying his best to assist, couldn't do a thing to resolve my issue. Overall, I'm extremely disappointed with what I experienced in this store, from start to finish. If anyone is considering going into this store looking for assistance, please don't.
Central location, easy to spot, great service etc.
Went in to get a new iPhone and was told repeatedly nothing would change and my bundle credit would continue as I also have NBN with Optus. Opened the app and saw I now have TWO accounts - one for mobile and one for NBN. Went on chat and they told me no I may have to upgrade my NBN to maybe keep my bundle credit. Everything maybe. Also in store the person serving me while he was friendly, he also took a lot of time I think due to needing to check with other staff what to do. Tried to verify my identity but turns out he missed a field on my profile which one of the other staff had CLEARLY told him had to be filled. That was a WASTE of time. At one point there were 3 staff members hanging out by the entrance. Maybe one of them could have supervised this clearly new and poorly trained or he didn’t pay attention during training staff member. We need more competitors in this industry to push companies like Optus out of business
